Great Product, Great Value
Bought the Koulin Trail Tee Shirt, Arrived the day after I ordered it which, bearing in mind Alpkit do free delivery, is brilliant. The t shirt itself is fantastic, great fit, very good quality, excellent price and I love the colour ( Forest green). I find Alpkit staff very friendly and they make your order seem very personal to them as the hand written “ thanks for your order” note suggests. A top class company.
Great value Excellent performance
I bought a Koulin for a 3 day cycle camping trip across the Lakes. I was pleasantly surprised to be able to wear this t shirt the whole time. It stayed comfortable and sociable despite getting soaked during some significant hill climbing with a big pannier load.
I was the lucky winner of one of these tops in the white peak trail run. Worn for two events now in hot weather. Great wicking properties, dries rapidly. Perfect fit, awesome quality. Will definitely invest in a few more of these, and be trying more Alpkit products.
On a hot day's walk this top has great wicking ability, doesn't show the damp patches, and at the end of the day didn't smell too bad either!
Perfect fit as well.
Wore this with the Timbuktroos trouser, and the combination worked very well.
I'll be buying more of these, such a great price.
Bought 2 of these for a recent skiing trip to Norway. Incredibly comfortable to wear. Looking forward to using them for walking and biking too.
Excellent product- so good in fact that within 2 minutes of unpacking my parcel (speedy delivery) I was straight back on the website to order another. Nice cut, quality feel.
Bought two of these. They are everything you could want from a baselayer with the addition of a great cut. The key pocket is an added bonus.
Fantastic at this price
I've been using these for both running and hiking having previously used Paramo baselayers. These are far cheaper, much better fitting, look good and don't have the problem of static. In terms of warmth and wicking performance I haven't noticed any difference.
From now I'll be using alpkit for my baselayers.
Excellent base layer.
Just back from a two week hut tour in the Dolomites and this was one of three base layers I carried. It performed better than the other two and cost much less. Will be buying another one soon.
Koulin T Shirt
Just received this today and I'm very impressed with the quality and fit of it and as a bonus it's at a very good price as well. I shall be wearing mine on the hills with Longtown Mountain Rescue Team of which I'm a member of.
I have bought two for hiking the lowlands of home in Norfolk, and my staycation trips to the hills. Great fit, does the job for me. Moves the sweat, vents the back under the rucksack. But the clincher is the personalised thank you hand written on the package paperwork. Fast delivery, despite being free. Another order is soon on its way. Friendly service however you deal with them. face to face in their store, or online. Brilliant
Good performance and features.
Excellent moisture control and comfortable while running. Fit is slightly loose, consider a size down if you want a closer fit. Body length is also short compared to other brands I've used although in fairness I am 6'4". Nice top, excellent price.
Front wicks, back doesn’t
I bought after reading the UKC review in my long search for a technical T that really does wick. I am delighted that the front does but the back seems to be different material, maybe more hardwearing for pack wearers, and I finish my run with soggy material flapping away. Much better than any other Ts I have tried and as a bonus it’s nipple friendly too.
I will buy more
I bought a small as I'm a thin gentleman but at 6 foot, I find it a little short compared to other brands that I own. Whether larger sizes are longer, I don't know, but that doesn't help me. Performance wise it is great and a good price in the sale. For me all the Koulin range needs lengthening.
Neck design not to my taste
Neck too low in my opinion, which means neck protection needs to be worn more often, say in cold of very sunny conditions. I note that this criticism has been made of other Alpkit tee shirt designs. Other than that good 'Alpkit' value.
Hit and miss
Over all a solid technical base for a good price but I'm not so sure about the anti smell technology, I wore it out for 2 short runs and it was pretty pongy afterwards. Certainly not comparable to merino's smell reducing qualities.
The only other issue is that little pocket that's so handy for "keeping your keys, card or compass in":
I returned to my car after a pleasant forest run to discover my keys vanished.
Sizing is too large
Bought a small, it's too large. Doesn't sit close enough so it hangs too low, is too baggy and flapps around when I'm active. I'm not tiny, but I'm quite skinny. Small t-shirts of most brands fit me perfectly, but this is too large. It's a shame as the fabric and cut seem good, and the seams are flat and very comfortable.
