One pair of jeans to rule them all, one pair for cragging,
One pair to wear for walks and a little bit of cycling.
No need to keep Jeanius Jeans secret or safe though: they may look just like jeans and feel just like jeans, but they have hidden superpowers.
Jeanius are a slim-fit jean tailored for activity with subtly articulated knees and a diamond-shape gusseted crotch. Their fit means you can still see your feet when climbing and won’t risk catching them in mucky bike chains, but they’ll still be smart enough to wear out for dinner later. With BCI-certified sustainable cotton and four different fabric technologies, these aren’t your average pair of jeans either...
Our unique denim blend is designed to let your legs express themselves freely: striding determinedly up hillsides; contorting into awkward bouldering moves; performing ridiculous Monty Python walks... T400® polyester provides a superabundance of stretch and instant comfort, without sacrificing the natural denim feel. Plus it stops them losing their shape over time.
Cordura® fibres greatly increase the durability and makes your jeans last longer. No need to worry about scuffs, scrapes and tumbles with a truly bomber fabric that’s at least 4x tougher than regular cotton denim – gritstone come at me!
With the final two ingredients they’re comfortable in a wide range of temperatures too. Coolmax® All Season polyester wicks moisture to keep you cool and dry when you start to work up a sweat and Thermolite® hollow core fibres trap still air to keep you warm when the temperature drops.
Jeanius Jeans: denim to properly thrash about in and withstand a life lived out in the elements.
- Cordura® denim is 4x more durable than regular cotton denim with greater abrasion and tear resistance
- Tailored to hike, bike and climb with 4-way stretch, articulated legs and a diamond shape gusseted crotch
- Temperature regulating combo of Coolmax® All Season and Thermolite® Core keep you comfortable year-round
- Moisture-managing Coolmax® All Season wicks away sweat to keep you dry
- Made from Better Cotton Initiative™ certified sustainable cotton
- Slim fit legs allow you to see your feet better when climbing and are neater for cycling

Correcting my statement on the Length left here. This was due to an erroneous label. Gracefully solved by Alpkiteers.
Strolled around in these pants for 3 weeks in various Serra's in Spain; it's only when you go back to a classic jeans/pant you realize the freedom.
Please make these in black stonewash
Sizing is a bit generous and agree with other comments about belt loops and coin pocket, but not really a problem.
Fabric is a great mix of comfort and robust.
For a slim fit they feel quite relaxed, I usually can't wear slim fit jeans. These feel fitted enough to look modern without restricting movement, the fabric is soft and VERY stretchy and comfortable to wear. My main niggle is the positioning of the front belt loops, they're too far back. This means the front of the jeans sags down below a belt buckle, leaving the buckle touching your skin, which can be irritating and sometimes pinch your body hair!
Comfy practical climbing (etc.) trousers
Worn these for a few days now; walking the dog, indoor climbing - bouldering and in a harness, and sat around the house.
Firstly, they look good. They’re a proper darkwash and are pretty covert when it comes to being a technical ‘climbing’ trousers. I’d happy wear them day to day, and will. They just about qualify as a slim fit in my book, maybe somewhere between a slim and regular.
A word of caution though … I’m a true 34/33” waist and ordered the Large and Medium to try both on for size. The Large were way too big for me. The Medium are even on the ‘comfortable’ side of fitting me. In my opinion these trousers come out big. However’ I’ve not washed them yet so they may shrink a little I guess.
Ordered Regular leg length and I’m a true 32” and I’d say they’re about right. Did find I turned them up when climbing though, but they look good turned up.
I’d second the previous comments regarding the ‘coin’ pocket issue as I find my fingers getting caught in it (because of it’s positioning) when placing my hand into the normal pocket - slightly annoying that! The comment about the belt loops are also spot on.
The material feels great to wear. They are really stretchy but still feel like denim on. I didn’t feel like they got in the way at all whilst climbing, which is a major thumbs up, and they were really comfortable under a harness.
I'd definitely recommend these despite the little niggles. Hopefully, Alpkit will resolve these minor issues in the next incarnation.
Looking forward to years of use.
Sole niggle: at 1,9m the Long seems a bit short (compared to the Sequence Long ie)
Great Jeans so far :-)
I was so pleased when this new version of the Jeanius jeans came out,as I loved the old ones! It was just brilliant annoying old school walkers by being out on the fells in Jeans .The fabric technical spec looks great (though yet to be tested in anger) and sizing is actually spot on and, as a short arse, I'm very glad of the short leg length! Unfortunately, I made the mistake of erring on the larger size when they first came out, so had to wait for the second delivery to get my replacement. These fit perfectly, are very comfortable and feel like they will last. I've not noticed an issue with the belt loops, but one tiny niggle I'd change in and redesign tweak is the position of the change pocket. Every time I go to put my hand in the right pocket my fingers get caught in the change pocket! In all other jeans I've had it is slightly higher and to the left - small point, but one I know will annoy a pedant like me for some time to come! Other than that though - genius!
Stealth outdoor jeans
My two pairs of the original Jeanius jeans bit the dust quite a while ago, so great to see new ones from Alpkit. These are comfortable and have good stretch, but they just miss out on 5 star status due to the first pair of belt loops being in the wrong place (too wide) and the coin pocket location (too low).
Jeanius so far!
Just got a pair of these and are super comfy for cycle commute/office/general bodding duties. Generous sizing and loads of stretch mean they are as comfy as trackies.
Can't say how resilient they are to the saddle wear that destroys all my other trousers but here's hoping they are better!
Only slight negative would be the belt loops on the front are too far apart, so there is a tendency for the front fastening to drop below the belt. Minor probs.
Size small is to big. I'm a 28"waist and the size small are to big on waist
Was looking forward to buying a pair for myself and my son but trying them on at the Hathersage shop the medium was too large and the small too small. We are 32 regular so not unusually sized.
