Beginners Bikepack the Badger Divide

This short film follows Lena Drapella and Emily Law as they embark on their first multi-day bikepacking journey through the wild and rugged Scottish Highlands.

What happens when two complete beginners take on Scotland’s legendary Badger Divide — in heavy rain, with zero bikepacking experience?

Inspired by a group of women riders in North Wales, they set out to tackle a route known for its remote paths, steep climbs, and unpredictable weather — learning everything as they go.

Across several challenging, breathtaking, and unexpectedly emotional days, they faced red weather warnings, self-doubt, and a series of tough obstacles — but also discovered incredible landscapes, warm bothy nights, and a deepening sense of confidence and resilience.

This film is for anyone who’s ever wondered if they could take on something big. You don’t need to be an expert to begin — just a bit of courage and the will to give it a go.
