One of the lightest and most packable fully waterproof bivvy bags on the market. Kloke uses fine 7 denier nylon in the face and back with a super fine PU membrane sandwiched in between.
In brief Kloke uses the lightest 3-layer waterproof fabric we could find. It’s also incredibly breathable (30k MVTR), which helps to reduce condensation on the inside of the bag.
Kloke’s zipped closure protects you in wet weather, but when conditions are good you can unzip and enjoy sleeping under the stars. You’ll need to leave a gap of about 6 inches for airflow when you zip up, so we’ve used a 2-way zip that lets you choose where you want that gap to be.
When it’s time to get up and hit the road again, Kloke packs back down to a miniscule 20 x 12 cm, smaller if you compress it. In fact, it’s so miniscule that you can throw it in the lid of your pack as an emergency shelter even when sleeping out isn’t on the cards.
Although on paper Kloke appears to be the same size as our Regular Hunka it actually has greater volume. This means it is suitable for a winter bag alongside your sleeping mat. Alpkit Rowan is 6ft 4" and he fits into Kloke just fine.
Always use the zipper open enough to provide adequate ventilation to prevent suffocation.

We knew the difficultly would come from finding the right fabric; thankfully we already had the answer and we were able to call upon the success of the 7d ultralight nylon found in the Gravitas jacket. - Rowan
The chemical finish that keeps water beading off waterproof fabrics has changed.
As with all waterproofs from responsible outdoor brands, our waterproofs meet international environmental standards and require occasional washing with a technical wash to maintain their high breathability.
This wasn’t always the case. Years ago, waterproof jackets were treated with chemicals that had toxic by-products that lingered in the environment for generations. Those old chemicals needed little maintenance, whereas modern waterproofs need regular washing.
We fully support this change. In fact, we quite like the idea of taking time to look after our kit so that it lasts a long time.
We are committed to reducing the environmental impact of all our products –in fact it’s in our DNA: we can’t imagine ever doing anything else. We always review the materials we use, manufacturing methods and our own consumption of resources. We do the research, make informed decisions, and choose the best option available to us.
Product Care Information
The better you look after this product the better it will look after you. To maintain the high performance of your waterproof, we recommend you wash and re-proof once or twice a year using specialist products like Nikwax or Grangers.
Wash on a delicate cycle 30˚C or hand wash with lukewarm water. Use a technical wash product or pure soap. DO NOT use detergent, fabric conditioners or softeners. Rinse thoroughly in clean water. Line dry or tumble dry on low heat. Use a cool iron to reactivate the DWR.
