3 Year Alpine lite Guarantee Your mat is warrantied for 3 years against defects in materials or workmanship. If the mat is found defective under the warranty we will repair or replace it at our discretion free of charge. Mats may be replaced with a fully guaranteed but cosmetically irregular replacement. Normal wear, puncture, misuse, alteration or abuse is not covered. Please follow the care instructions below to ensure the maximum life of your mat. The lifespan of an incorrectly stored mat will be considerably shortened. When you get your mat open the valve and let the mat self-inflate. Add a couple of breaths then close and store overnight. Next day open the valve and store as normal. Inflation Open the valve and allow the mat to inflate naturally. Add a few breaths to add air pressure for the de- sired level for comfort. Close valve. Your mat is now ready for use. Deflation Open the valve, fold the mat into 3 or 4, sit on the mat until all the air is squashed out. Roll from one end towards the valve end. Close the valve and pack. Storage All brands of self-inflating mat should be stored the same way. Make sure the mat is stored dry, unrolled, with valve open and full of air. If the mat is stored rolled up then mildew may form on the cover and mois- ture trapped inside may result in delamination. This is not covered by warranty. Cleaning Every now and then to make sure that food, damp and other materials do not degrade the mat. To clean, inflate the mat and close the valve. Wash with techwash and rinse. Leave unrolled to dry, and don’t forget to open the valve. Tips * Always check for puncturing hazards under mat area when setting camp (sharp rocks, thorns) * Use a ground cloth beneath mat if not sleeping in a tent * Its not a flotation device * Do not pressurize or inflate with a pump * Do not leave in direct sunlight for prolonged periods

Driftwood toby
Wanna sleep well? Kip on a dirtbag

I recently dragged a dirtbag mat off to Scotland for part of my work collecting driftwood. It was used on sand, shingle beaches. Soggy grass and a bit of snow over a week. First it inflates itself quickly and two quick puffs of air finished the mat fine for me. The material is tough, I abused it quite vigorously mostly because after collecting wood and walking for 20 miles I was too tired to make a nice camp, often the ground was quite uneaven but it softened that out nicely. It deflates quickly and folds down small, it's also light enough to always be in my pack.
Weather varied but the mat kept the cold from coming through pretty well.
It's a little narrow for me really but I'll get the wide one soon, I wouldn't change the model or brand.
If weight is a concern but you still want comfort, grab one of these!

A fine bit of kit

This mat is an excellent bit of kit. As someone who sleeps on his side I was a bit sceptical as to how comfortable this self inflating mat would be. I needn't have worried. I've never had a bad nights sleep under canvas since using it. Recommended 100%

comfy comfy comfy

used on my ML assessment and it was one of the comfiest nights sleep ive had camping. was truly delightful, it packs down small for the thickness and is quick to inflate.

Ideal first matt for new campers

Great beginner matt for camping, took this on a 9 day bike trip to switzerland and used it everyday. The dirtbag never lets you down but is a very simple matt, my friends had some more expensive super comfort ones but i never had a bad night sleep on my dirtbag XL.

Best Mat I've Used

Used it for the first time since buying it this weekend and I'm really impressed. Really lightweight and compact for what it is, managed to fit it into a 45l backpack with my sleeping bag, tent and all other kit I take with me for a multiday. I would quite happily take this with on a "luxury" multi day walking trip aswell as use it when I'm car camping. The brass valve just adds that final bit of quality feeling and match that up with the quality outer material and what seem to be bomber seams then I've got no doubts about this purchase and I'm really looking forward to using it again.

The only thing that I'm not a big fan of is that packbag you get with it, it's quite baggy and gives the impression it's much bigger then it is. I guess the benefit to that is not having to take as much time rolling it up after use but for the extra 10secopnds that would take I'd have prefered a tighter fitting storage bag but still it's a bomber bit of kit! Well done Alpkit, keep it up!

Alpkit mats are a waste of your time

Previous to buying the dirtbag I had 2 numo’s which both failed at the valve. Good customer service meant I got my money back which was good.
I brought 2 dirtbags for use in the van. One of them failed on the first weekend , again at the valve. I returned it for a new one without a problem. And once again another one has failed this weekend. 2 numos and 2 dirtbags down. The dirtbags were not even use outside , shocking quality! Good customer services doesn’t make up for making sh*t kit.
I know have one dirtbag left that works , No doubt I’ll be returning that soon for the same problem!
