This one’s for Kenny. Kenny’s old school  £50 run/ride windproof jacket is his go to favourite for anything from his 22-mile Peak District commute to the Welsh Ride Thing or Tuscany Trail.

Presenting Squalline, a lightweight windproof cycling and running jacket. With a waterproof rating of 8k HH and a breathability rating of 3k MVTR it will more than sustain a rain shower. It's the embodiment of our design ethos: sharing the gear we use every day, gear that simply works without the price-tag.

Squalline is the jacket you throw in your bag every time you head out for a ride or run. With a waterproof TPU membrane but none of that rustling that you get with some windproof shells, it's ideal for high-intensity activities where full wet weather gear is just too much!

High-stretch fabric gives you great freedom of movement, whilst Squalline’s soft internal cuffs keep out the draughts when you're whooping downhill and feel amazing next to your skin. Mesh vents with storm flaps on the upper back keep the air flowing with minimal sacrifice to protection.

A trim cut leaves you with no excess fabric to flap about in the wind and we’ve left it a little longer at the back to give riders good coverage when they’re bent over the bars. Squalline’s rear zipped pocket is handy for bikers and runners alike, fitting a few gels, a wallet, or some bars.  High visibility reflective detail on the rear trim and front zip help you stay safe and seen on the roads.

Squalline is highly packable: stuff it in its own pocket and have it on you ready to throw on if the weather turns foul.

Love this jacket!

This jacket is perfect for riding out when the weather is less than ideal. The best bits are
- it’s length - not too short
- the material - stretch and doesn’t rustle like a bin bag in the wind
- the cuffs on the sleeves keep the draft out and feel comfy
- it looks really good
- it’s a great price

Alpkit - please make this as a gilet for spring

What a great jacket

I have been looking for a fitted cyvling windproof that doesn't cost the earth but breathes, fits snugly, is light, packable and is shower proof. The squalline ticks all those boxes. First ride home in constant drizzle for one hour plus and I was nicely insulated and dry. I could not be more pleased.

Not as good as claims sadly

It's too heavy for a windproof and didn't hold out a light shower so it's not as good as the claims sadly . I'm a bit disappointed tbh.

A rare dud from alpkit in my view. Not waterproof enough to be useful in the rain, in the wind with even low/moderate activity you get soaked in sweat. then when you take it off it doesn't even pack very small. I'm hoping that a hot wash will take off the thick rubbery coating and leave me with a useable windproof, otherwise its for the bin.

Advntr.cc Review the Squalline

Being light, breathable and able to keep out all but the worst downpour, it will keep you dry and comfortable without weighing you down.
