Kepler Boxers [Mens] pure merino boxer shorts
If you are going to dress for performance you need to make sure you get it right from the inside out. There is no point wrapping yourself in high performance fabrics only to leave a pair of low tech cotton pants underneath it all!
Our boxers are made with soft merino jersey which wicks moisture away from the skin and dries fast. They are a slim fit and body hugging to allow you to layer with comfort. The high waist line means that the shorts can be pulled up away from the pinch point where other garments in your layering system might sit. A wide elasticated waistband helps avoid uncomfortable abrasion points when wearing a rucksack and stops the shorts riding down to expose skin to the elements when riding your bike or reaching up to that distance hold.
The benefits of Merino
Kepler is made using only the finest sustainably sourced non-mulesed New Zealand merino.
Merino wool is a natural material with properties that make it ideal for the changeable conditions you will experience during mountain activities, maybe that’s why New Zealand Merino sheep look so content strutting around their hillsides.
When you are on a mission you don’t want to be changing your layers with every turn in the weather. When it is cold Merino keeps you warm by trapping small pockets of air within its fibres. When its warm the same fibres will help to whisk moisture away from your skin so it can evaporate back into the water cycle! If you have been trapped in your garment for several days the antibacterial properties of a chemical called lanolin will help you stop ponging.
Merino baselayer won’t make you fitter, it won’t make you go faster, but it will help you feel more comfortable when you find yourself in uncomfortable circumstances.

Looking after your lightweight merino baselayer ?The better you look after this merino baselayer the better it will look after you. Cleaning can be done in luke warm handwash (or gentle machine wash). Merino can and does develop holes the more adventures you go on, so darn these up as soon as you can, othersise they will get bigger and you’ll be needing a new one! Common causes include snagging, vigorous machine washing, putting your finger through them when pulliing them on and hungry moths.

Short in the leg
The first pair that I bought were great, quite long in the leg so no issues with riding up while walking/climbing. Liked them enough to buy another pair. However the second pair fits completely differently, much shorter in the leg, and more prone to riding up uncomfortably.
If second pair were like the first then I would be very happy with them.
Decent enough and do what they say but they fit more like hipster undies, which makes them feel too short at the waist. If they came up a bit more they would be spot on.
Mens Kelper Boxer Shorts
Just completed the Trailwalker 2016 event in these, so I walked for 100km in just under 24hours wearing the Kepler shorts. I have to admit they were a panic purchase and a bit of a luxury at the price with the worry of being uncomfortable for that amount of time.
I found the material and the fit absolutely spot on. The problem I had with them though was the seam going between my buttocks. Unfortunately the seam didn't go nice places or do nice things with it constantly riding up in between. It wasn't a massive hinderance but more of a constant niggle I was always aware of.
I also forgot to pack any fresh underwear for the following day so was stuck in the Keplers for over 48 hours and no unpleasant scent.
On the whole a good product with a strange seam placement but knowing Alpkit they had a good reason.
