Bob 200 lumen submersible camping lantern

Meet Bob - the powerful camping lantern that floats. A buoyant and submersible 200 lumen camping lantern

  • Google+

Bob floats, it’s what he does. He loves to float, he can do it all day!

All in all Bob is the perfect lantern for any occasion where he might end up in the drink. Take him fishing, take him around the world on a sailing adventure, or pootle down the Wye and have a relaxing illuminated evening bivvy.

Operation is simple, a big round button turns Bob on and cycles through the 4 lighting modes; High, Medium, Low and SOS. Bob is powered by 4 AAA batteries, so no matter where your adventure replacements should be easily available.

Turn Bob over and you will find an accessory carabiner so you can hang him up in your tent or suspend him from a jungle vine - watch out for those cheeky monkeys, Bob can’t automatically initiate SOS mode!!

Had to divert to the campsite toilet on the way back from the Indietracks festival this weekend. The OH went on to the tent. Bob made the tent like a giant beacon. grin Seriously fab light.

Bright, but silicone rubber bumper falls off and be careful, when you put the battery compartment lid on as it is very easy to damage the contacts.
1/5. Will be returning it, sorry alpkit.

EDIT: Sorry to hear this has happened. Drop an email to support@alpkit and we’ll be able to sort you out. Many thanks, Toria (Customer Service)

Bob is a lot smaller than I expected, but puts out a good amount of soft glow easily enough to light up a small tent.  Not tested him out in water yet but I’ll trust he does float.

The only picky negative is that he turns on in high mode, cycling down to low, so be prepared to turn him on with eyes closed if you’re answering a middle of the night call of nature.  Unless you like 200lm at 3am.

Not enough information, are the batteries rechargeable, how many hours on each mode, what at the best batteries to use. I use 1100ma rechargeable.

EDIT: Thank you for your feedback. The specification details have been updated. Many thanks, Ashleigh - Customer Service
