Hiking under Alpine summer skies, battling the lethargy on a stifling day in the slate quarries, climbing in the Verdon Gorge… The outdoors is more than just a passion.
Werk are incredibly comfy organic cotton canvas shorts with technical qualities that make them perform on the hill, whether you’re hiking the Ben or biking Offa’s.
Werk shorts were designed for outdoor living and are a natural fibre alternative to synthetic tech shorts. The organic canvas fabric is super comfy and tough against abrasion, ideal for bouldering, biking, bivvying, hiking up to the mountain refuge…
A touch of spandex in the fabric lets the Werk short move with you, not against you and the gusseted crotch gives you even more room to move unrestricted. These shorts have passed the ‘get-your-foot-improbably-high-to-avoid-that-rubbish-foothold’ test, so they’re pretty darn stretchy.
The thicker central belt loop at the back is ace for attaching your chalk bag. A zipped thigh pocket is ideal for stashing your keys or cards so you don’t lose them.
- Stretchy, comfy and durable shorts for the active mountain lifestyle
- Cotton canvas fabric is natural, durable, stretchy and really comfy
- 2 open front pockets, 2 rear drop-in pockets

Oops I did it again
...that is bought another pair. Shorts that fit! I buy 30-32" from other brands to be able to fit my thighs and allow me to move. Size small is perfect on the waist and I have no problems running after the boys in them. Thanks Alpkit
These are really great shorts, and everything they’re described as: tough fabric, well made and stretchy, with a neat little pocket for keys and card. And particularly nice to have shorts made from cotton. But I would advise caution when selecting the size; I ordered large, as I’m usually 34 in waist, and the large size fits very adequately, but after wearing a while (too late to exchange, unfortunately) I think I could have done with a medium, as the elastane in the fabric provides a lot of give, and these now feel on the large side. (Please note, this isn’t a complaint, just sharing stuff with other Alpkit customers.)
Good cut, very comfortable
Great fit, nice bit of stretch, good weight.
Another winner from Aplkit.
Got these in grey. The fit and fabric seems to be the same as the Kraft trousers; no bad thing. Comfortable walking and on the bike. Pockets that can actually hold keys without digging in. However I the Kraft style front pockets are better as the Werk's slanted pockets have had things fall out when lounging about. This and the fact that the grey is turning slightly red (sweat or washing?) means they drop a star. Otherwise top!
Fades really quickly
Couldn't decide which colour to buy so bought a pair in Sept 2018 in both the red and grey colours. Great fit, really durable fabric with just a bit of stretch. Useful zipped pocket.
The only downside is that both colours have faded really quickly. Worse still they have both faded to the same fairly unpleasant pinkish colour. Nice shorts, but I wouldn't but them again because of the weird fading issue.
Nice shorts but they're on the small side. I take a medium for almost everything but these came up uncomfortably tight.
Quality not great
Size runs abit small. Fades and wears really quickly. Looks like 10 years old in 6 weeks
