It's a not-for-profit festival with all proceeds donated to the Alpkit Foundation.
SCHOOL OF ADVENTURE
The School of Adventure brings together some of the best instructors, guides and inspirationalists in one place with one aim: to inspire and educate in an amazing environment. The School of Adventure is about giving you the chance to try something completely new, learn the specific skills of a new discipline, or simply do more or do it better without committing to a whole weekend course.
Many of the sessions won't teach everything but they will give a set of core skills to work on, covering the discipines of adventure, cycling, caving, climbing, camp cooking, craft skills, outdoor swimming, canoe and kayaking, photography, running, walking and wellbeing. Here are just a few highlights...

WATER
Experience whitewater thrills on the River Derwent under the sheer sides of High Tor or walk on water with paddle boarding at Tittesworth Reservoir.

WHEELS
Become a better rider on our technical pump track or gain the skills for bigger self-supported adventures that could take you around the world.

What campfire is complete without stories to share round it? Some of our favourite adventurers and Alpkiteers are generously giving up their time to join us at Big Shakeout tent, share and discuss their latest exploits, and answer an burning questions we have about their adventures.
The Big Shakeout elves are busy working on the Speaker programme for now, watch this space for a taster of what's to come!
ADVENTURE FILMS
The Big Shakeout will feature some of the best films from the festival circuit this year. Bring your popcorn, your pizza, your strawberry bonbons (or whatever you need to enjoy a film really...) and tune into some inspirational, edge-of-your-seat, and downright hilarious films.
We'll be bringing you showreel details shortly - stay tuned!

ACTIVITIES
Craft workshops, slacklining, axe throwing, we are just getting started. We are going to be adding activities over the coming weeks.

MUSIC
Live music is the perfect accompaniment for a weekend of activity, here's a taste who will be bringing music to your ears at the Big Shakeout 2018
Music is the beating heart of the Big Shakeout Festival... and a great excuse for us all to let our hair down, bob our heads, and move our feet.
Our talent scouts are out searching for music that you just can't help dancing to (as well as music that you can sit back and relax to). Don't worry, we'll make sure you're the first to know when the line up goes live!
FOOD & DRINK
Good food and drink are worth savouring, enjoying, and sharing... (like the best adventures!) Check out what's on the menu at the Big Shakeout 2018.
As much as we love creating delicious culinary concoctions on our camping stoves, sometimes it's nice to give your stove the day off, hang up your rucksack and have a hearty hot meal made for you (preferably with a nice beer too!).

Free Tea and Coffee
At registration, we'll equip you with a Big Shakeout Mug that you can use to make the most of free tea and coffee all weekend. Hurrah for that!

The Foundation Bar
