Tent Demos

We have all done it, gone in to our local outdoor shop and looked at the latest Interstella 24. You've gone inside, checked you fitted and then got out the readies, only to find out the first time you use it you hate the colour or don't like the internal pockets, by then it's all too late.

Well we've taken a look at what goes on in the bike world and have made our mountain tents available for demo loan.

The demo period will run from Wednesday to Wednesday inclusive of courier delivery and collection.

How to arrange a demo loan
Add your tent to an order and select PHONE ORDER as payment method. This will give us your contact details and we will contact you to arrange payment and the demo period. Please note that we have a limited number of demo tents so contact us in plenty of time.

We will take a deposit equal to the cost of the tent, when you return the tent you will be refunded the deposit minus the loan fee. We will arrange for the courier to collect your tent demo so that it arrives back at AK HQ the following Wednesday.

The demo loan fees are refundable on any purchase of a tent within 3 months by the same cardholder. If renting different tents at the same time for comparison, the total rent will be refunded, for example rent a Kangri and a Zhota for £75 and you will get a £75 refund.

If tents are rented on separate occasions only one fee will be refunded so if you rent a Zhota for £45 one week and then again on a separate occasion, we will only refund one demo loan fee. The tent will also need to be returned dry and clean, we are not expecting spotless but if we have to spend time drying and cleaning then we will probably charge you. Demo rental is available only in the UK.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. This service is available only in the UK.
  2. The Tent let out on hire/demo, including all accessories & attachments supplied herewith (“the Tent”) remains the property of Alpkit Ltd (“the Owner”) and the Renter will not sell, hire out, lend or otherwise part with possession thereof.
  3. The Renter acknowledges and agrees that the Tent is in good condition in all respects and undertakes not to misuse it and returns it with all accessories in the same condition as when received (ordinary wear and tear excepted) to the place and on the due date and time specified on order form as placed by the Renter. The Owner shall be entitled to charge the Renter for all damage caused to the Tent during the period of hire.
  4. The period of hire commences at the time of collection or delivery and is deemed to continue until the Owner as aforesaid receives the Tent.
  5. The Owner shall not be liable for any damage caused or loss made whatsoever by breakdown or other defects in the Tent or other circumstances beyond the Owner's control. The Renter shall indemnify the Owner in respect of all costs, claims, expenses, and demands which it may suffer or incur and which arise directly or indirectly out of the use of the Tent during the period of hire. The Owner reserves the right to use the Renter's deposit in part or in full settlement of any such claim.
  6. In the event of the Tent being lost or stolen the Owner reserves the right to call upon the Renter to indemnify the Owner the replacement value of the Tent. However, should the Tent subsequently be recovered in a useable condition, the Owner undertakes to refund the Renter’s Indemnity in full within fourteen days.
  7. The Renter shall be solely responsible for and shall keep the Owner fully indemnified in respect of all fines, impositions or other penalties occasioned by the use of the Tent during the period of hire in respect of violation of any Acts of Parliament, Orders, Regulations or bye laws for the time being in force.
  8. Any conditions or warranties not expressed and which might be implied on the part of the Owner except Statutory Warranties are excluded.
  9. The Renter will ensure that the Tent is Secure and WILL IMMEDIATELY NOTIFY THE OWNER IN THE EVENT OF ANY LOSS OR BREAKAGE OF the Tent, OTHER THAN THOSE REASONABLY REPAIRABLE BY THE HIRER. THESE SHOULD BE REPORTED TO THE OWNER UPON THE RETURN OF the Tent.
  10. The Renter will pay to the Owner on demand all charges due under the agreement. The estimated rental charge (calculated as per the Owner's current lists) plus any charges for additional accessories and attachments, is payable in advance before collection, together with a deposit as advertised. Any refunds due, if any will be made when the Tent is returned to the Owner as aforesaid.
  11. In the event of cancelled forward booking, a minimum of 20% of the rental charge thereof will be payable together with the balance thereof should the Owner be unable to re-hire the Tent in question for the same period.
  12. If the Renter shall commit any breach of the terms of this agreement the Owner shall be entitled, but without prejudice, to any other rights or remedies which it may have to terminate the hire of the Tent, and recover possession thereof without notice, and to make reasonable charge for such repossession. No rights of the Owner under the agreement will be waived except in writing by a duly authorised member of staff
