    Transmitter; aggressive 650b hardtail mountain bike with balance up and down, across cambers and ruts, roots and rocks.

    Transmitter takes on mountain trails guns blazing; Snowdon on a sunny Autumn day or the Colorado singletrack with killer views and grinders where you won’t get out the grannie-gear. Yet, you can still whip around Cannock Chase on a Sunday afternoon with great agility.

    A flattened top tube gives vertical compliance but lateral stiffness; an all mountain bike that gives the stability of a fat-bike shrunk in the wash with the nimbleness of a trail bike. Utilising the new Boost148 and Boost110 standards, even the most sheepish rider will tackle those steep sections like a pro.

    External bolted cable solutions, integrated headsets, through-axle hubs, NX1 gearing, formed butted smooth-welded tubing and as you would expect - handling beyond compare. They’re bikes that just fit in with hard riding. But mostly, they are to ride and enjoy. Easy to ride and maintain. And funner. Much funner.

Vertical compliance and lateral stiffness

The strikingly flattened top tube is the spoonful of black magic we need to make the frameset both rigid and forgiving in all the right places. Stable yet nimble, the geometry has been tweaked to give a spirited ride.

Hand welded 6061-T6 triple butted frameset

Not all tubes are equal, Transmitter uses tube walls of different thicknesses to get material where it is needed and save weight where it isn’t.

Dropper seatpost ready

The Transmitter frame is compatible with a dropper seatpost so even the most sheepish riders can tackle those steep sections head on like a pro.

Tapered head tube

Whoever would choose to be a head tube? You might as well step into the ring with Mike Tyson. This is a critical junction point where force is distributed around the frame and steering precision is won or lost. Transmitter has a wide tapered head tube to house your internal bearings, distributing force more evenly whilst improving steering over broken terrain.

Boost ready

Transmitter is designed around the new Boost standard and corresponding 52 mm chainline for better steering stiffness and increased wheel support.

The Transmitter frame is suited to a low profile 2.8” tyre or aggressive 2.6” tyres, some larger 2.8”s may rub the chainstays in use

It is important to get the right size bike, if the bike fits it will be faster, more comfortable, and easier to handle. You can also take into consideration the standover height to ensure you pick a bike that will be a good fit. If you measure your inside leg and ensure there is a minimum of an inch from the toptube to your crotch this will give you enough seatpost adjustment to find your optimum saddle height.

My wife wasn't all that impressed when I got back from my maiden Transmitter outing and proudly announced that "I'll probably kill myself using this bike". This bike is just so fun and easy to ride (once the saddle and grips were changed). Bombing down a rocky and rooty gully for the first time, the bike just took it all in it's stride, I couldn't quite understand why I hadn't already been ejected from the saddle. It made me feel like a much much better rider than I am grin.
This bike just feels so planted as well as being so playful.
The biggest change I made was changing out the chainring for a 28T (remember to buy a boost offset DM version). This gives me a real decent amount of climbing gears (giving me a range of 72.5 - 19 gear inches. Living at the foot of a mountain range this is very useful, as well as for bike packing).
So basically it descends really well, climbs very well and also is pretty handy on the flat (even on tarmac once the tyres have been inflated a bit more).
The SRAM gears work very well as do the brakes.
My only real niggle would be that you can only attach one bottle cage.
Finally my 8 year old son thinks it looks cool (and asked for one for xmas, not happening big man) and when out and about people are always staring at the bike.
All in all very pleased.

Transmitter XL

Bought the XL size and all good except as its winter the Ranger tyre was very vague first ride in the slop. Put a more aggressive front tyre on, went tubeless at the same time and now its brilliant. Love it, excellent machine floated over a horse rutted frozen bridleway while others on normal 27.5 tyres fell off constantly. Components seem good, gears, excellent with a good range. No complaints so far other than a more versatile front tyre as stock maybe.

Sonder Transmitter in Rocket Green is an absolute Rocket

Ordered my Transmitter based on the rave reviews on Bike Radar... Could not be more blown away by the quality, price, and service from Alpkit! Nothing I test rode here in the states came close for the price!!! Had the bike shipped to the states problem free via DHL. Basically the bike arrived, I put the bars on, gave everything a pnce over (didnt need it), put the front wheel on, filled up the tubeless tires (small fee well worth it) and hit the trails! The Transmitter fit the bill exactly for what I was looking for in a bike. It is extremely playful, easy to throw around, and just goes and goes. The 27.5+ tires give confidence like no other on the corners and the geometry allows for a light front end feel. This bike will take me to the next level in my riding and has been and will be further recommended to those looking for the hands down best bang-for-your-buck trail hardtail around.

silly / stupid fun

I know the title is strange a bit about me first I have ridden MTB's since 1987 and I have never ever ridden a bike which makes me chuckle so much it's a real hoot.
I did not want a Sram groupset but there is not much option and I was wrong the NX groupset works flawlessly
I wanted to uprate the forks but it got a bit complex on the c2w scheme wrong again the Sektors are brilliant.
I have always rebuilt any bike I have bought but I cannot fault the build of this bike these guys are good.
After I bolted the bars on I fitted a set of pedals and went for a spin what a laugh this bike makes you smile ( and thats what its all about really) I went to the local BMX track and laughed all the way round to some funny looks from the local kids with a 54 year old playing on there track but hey I was having a laugh!!!
I went to the Quantocks on sunday more laughing but this thing flies the 3" tyres roll quickly and are not at all draggy even at 15psi. the grip is amazing I was able to clear things which have in the past stopped me in my tracks.
point the thing down hill and it just flies but easily controllable and the grip and feedback is amazing.
needless to say I am stunned with this bike never have I laughed so much, you just have to try on to understand.
Now the negatives the grips are too big for me ( hardly a fault)
My Cotics will be resigned to the back of my shed

Awesome Bike

Had my NX1 build Transmitter now for about 3 months. Bought it after a fair time comparing it to various other bikes - Orange, Ragley and Whyte being the main 3 contenders for my cash but went with this because I trust Alpkit, it's designer knows what he is doing and the kit / build level was very competitive. It's a great bike. Love a hardtail - this bike gives you loads of feedback so you know exactly what each wheel is doing. Used all round Thetford and at Chicksands so far. Handles the technical stuff well and has no issues with the jumps, drop offs and trail features. So stable and yet still nimble. Climbs really well too which I'll benefit from when we hit Afan later this year. Still running tubes (20psi F&R seems to work well) and I've added a dropper, upgraded the grips, added V12s and Love Mud mud guard to protect the forks and headset and it looks great. Got the black frame version. Special mention to Neil the bike guru - answered all my questions about the bike before, during and even after purchase. Really pleased and 'yes" you can believe the reviews about this bike on-line. It's Awesome!

Just brilliant

I've had my transmitter about 2 months now and it's simply superb! I've not touched my other bikes at all since getting it. It really is as good as all the reviews on singletrack/ bikeradar etc say it is. And the service and advice from guru Neil is second to none. Thanks Alpkit.

Nice machine with coolness factor

I got this bike because of the reviews t in Bikeradar and mbr. This is a good balance machine that is capable of a lot. I had taken this machine to 5 rides thus far. This machine has a coolness factor: guys at the trail and my local bikeshop found this hardtail good looking. The color was the most eye-catching feature of the bike. I went for rocket green. The rocket green is very intense and unique. The pictures of the Alpkit website shows you the true color of the bike, while other pictures that I found on the internet do make justice to the green color.

I changed some components of this bike to suit my necessities. 1) I swap the tires for 2.6' Rekon Maxxis because of the 2.8' Ranger WBT were too big and heavy for me. I still have the original tires and might use them on occasion. 2) I put a 28T chainring to have better climbing gears. There is a lot of mountains where I live and I need to get stronger legs. 3) I asked Apkit to put a dropper post and I love it (Highly recommended for downhill riding) 3) I swapped the grips, stem and added some bar ends (see pic). The original components of the bike are of very good quality. These changes were a more esthetical and practical choice rather than a real necessity.

I have had some issues with this bike thus far. Not a real deal breaker. 1) The wheels on this bike make the removal and re-installation of tires an almost impossible task without heavy duty tools. I could not swap the tires myself. I destroyed an inner tube in the process. Then, I took the bike to my local bike shop and they punctured 2 inner tubes during the swapping process. I am afraid that if I have a puncture while riding, I would be in major trouble. I would recommend going for a tubeless set-up with this bike (I will probably do it in the close future). 2) My second problem is the indexing of the Sram NX system. I haven't had luck getting it right. Sometimes the gears would not downshift and sometimes it would jump 2 gears. I spent 2 hours trying to get it right and got close to fixing it but it still has some problems. Guys at the bike shop did not get it better than me. I might have gotten a faulty Sram system (Not the fault of Alpkit). I am just living with it. 3) The bike came with an indentation on the top tube (not structural damage rather than a deep scratch on the paint ) and the guys of Alpkit addressed the problem promptly and satisfactory.

I live in California and Alpkit sent it without a problem. It took two weeks between payment and delivery.

Finally, I would like to acknowledge the great client service of Alpkit. Rob is the boss !!! Thanks Rob. Super professional and quick response. They answered all my questions promptly and offered help deciding the frame size, components and swapping the seat post.

Great Bike- But Bewarre

I bought this bike about 6 months ago. At first, it was awesome. The geo is awesome and it really can fly downhill. As time went on, the places where components are an issues showed. I've blown 2 freehub bodies, both replaced by Sonder no charge. Althought they replaced it for free, I feel as though these items shouldnt be messing up so quickly.

Another issue I had (and still dealing with) is that the rear DER hanger bolts continue to come lose, no matter how tight I crank them with blue locktite. When those start to vibrate lose, the entire rear assemble is not a solid unit which causes problems (like free hub bodies).

Lastly, the NX non drive side crank bolt came lose over time creating an unuasable crank. I replaced with a stronger GX unit.

If these problems havent come up, I'd love this bike. Perhaps because Im a big rider that these problems have come up, or maybe my bad luck. Who knows.
