Our Yakutian has evolved into… the Yakutian II. Don't worry, it's still a durable micro fleece midlayer with good stretch and recovery, but it's also comfier and tougher with an enhanced fit for active use.
A mens fleece midlayer with a quarter-length zip, Yakutian is great to pull on when the temperature as dropped and there are still some long miles ahead before you can get a brew on. The polyester/spandex blend fabric is stretchy and durable, with a super soft backer which feels great against the skin and a dense-knitted outer that protects against rock, brambles and rucksacks. A longer cut on the Yakutian II gives a better fit when tucked into a harness and keeps you warm when you're pedalling hard.
The Yakutian II is simple yet uncluttered, but it wouldn't be Alpkit without a few handy finishing touches. A chest pocket - accessible no matter how many layers you're wearing on top - is ideal for your keys, card or phone. Thumb loops are ideal for keeping in the warmth, and raglan sleeves give you extra freedom of movement.
It may seem clichéd to call it versatile, but there's no denying that the Yakutian II is a garment that you'll find yourself reaching for time and time again.

A great fleece
I love this fleece, I wear it as a midlayer on my motorcycle right up till winter time, I use it at work and outdoors. It washes well and is looking a wee bit tatty now but it is still holding up remarkably well, no holes or broken stitching. I bought it about 1 year ago and absolutely recommend it.
Had one of these for around six months now and absolutely love it. Thin and well fitted, it also seems pretty snug in even windy conditions. The fit is great for me (size L, I'm 6ft 3") and the thumb loops are excellent. I even wear it around the house as it feels so cosy. Top garmentage
Had this too for a couple of months now and it’s become one of my favourites, thinking of getting another one I like it that much.
Great mid layer
This is excellent for layering on top of a base layer and under a windproof for colder days while active. This is quite a slim fit but that suits me fine. Works well on its own over a t shirt too for bimbling around the campsite.
