Full length bib tights for on or off road riding with a comfortable and durable chamois to help keep you in the saddle and racking up more and more miles.
Keep your commuting patterns regular or keep smashing out the long rides whether it is a cold, crisp spring morning .. even snowy winter day or an overcast, damp, blustery autumn evening. Dress for non-stop riding whatever the conditions; sliding yourself into a warming bib just makes you feel good about yourself even before you get on your bike. The bib prevents the tights sliding down as you ride and eliminates any cold spots around your waist.
The uppers are constructed in a fine stretchy polyester. Layered under windproof and thermal layers the mesh will trap air, creating micropockets of heat to keep your core warm. The seams are flatstitched to sit friendly under your other garments. When you step up the pace they will help wick moisture away from your skin and reduce the cooling effect of evaporation.
These bib tights have our KOM chamois to relieve the pressure spots that occur when you are in the saddle for extended periods. Moisture wicking and antibacterial to help reduce the saddle soars that are caused by grumpy bacteria developing over the course of a long ride. 13 mm thick PU foam where you need it most and slimmer around the sides for body contouring comfort.
Constructed from breathable, stretchy fabric they are designed to be worn next to your skin, and since there is only one layer of fabric, they breathe well. If you are going the big distances we always recommend that you apply a good quality anti-chafing chamois cream for cool soothing action.
The ankles have a short zip to make it easier to get the tights on and off and the hems have tacky silicone grippers to prevent the shorts from riding up and going all Nora Batty on you.
For the best visibility on the UK roads we have positioned a reflective logo on the right thigh with additional reflective beading along the ankle zip for discrete visibilty at night.
Suitable for on or off-road trips - these are the thermal bibs for colder all season riding.
Rhythm Tights come with a thicker 3D chamois made to perform for long days in the saddle. It's like a good pair of jeans or quality shoes: wear them, wash them, and let them soften and mould to your riding position so that the pad becomes super comfortable.

Alpkit crack it again!
I was lured in to bibs before Christmas and I thought I’d try these Alpkit offerings as the price was soooo competitive- and crikey, I’m glad I did! Having done some research about shorts/bibs/chamois it just shows how different we are as a race - there is no such thing as a perfect pad for everyone!
Personally- I love my Rhythm Thickies, the pad is comfortable in use, the legs are tight but not too tight and don’t ride up, I’ve used them at -4degC and they were fine. I’m 6’2” and 110kg and the XLs fit like a lovely, comfortable glove. I just wish the shorts were in stock as I’d be buying them too!! There may be room for improvement with a bit more reflective piping for all round safety - but I am NOT complaining about my tights!
Been wearing these for 12 months and use regularly. The chamois has softened up well and good for 8-10 hour rides round the peak. I've used them all year round when its cool and down to freezing ... but could do with some more windproof/waterproof for when it is very cold
Bib leggings are quite nice but they show more wear after not that much riding and maybe a dozen washes than I expected. And as one of the little zips has broken so they feel tatty sooner than expected. Had them for nearly a year and use them only during the cold weather. Sizing is small... I needed XXL and they’re only just long and roomy enough- I’m 6’4 and 14.5 stone, a big more length in the braces would be good. I think they’ll go on working well enough for a few more years though.
Uncomfortable, Feels cheap
I ordered one of these when they where on sale, and having worn it on a few rides, it definitely feels rather cheap. The main problem is the chamois pad. It is huge and too rigid. It feels like a large stiff bit of cardboard between my legs. To be fair the effect is less pronounced when I am actually riding a bike, compared with when I am driving my car, or walking up an unridable section, but compared with all my other riding shorts, it is definitely less comfortable, and is not getting softer after a number of rides and washes.
My other complaint is that the tights are too tight and not stretchy enough on my lower legs. It requires a noticeable amount of effort to pull them on, which I was not expecting.
Having said that, theses tights are half the price of most competing ones from a local bike shop, so I guess I can't complain too much.
Do not purchase
I purchased these bib tights as a Christmas present.
After two months moderate use a hole has appeared on the rear, just up from the pad.
Contacted Alpkit only to be advised that they consider this wear and tear!!!
They have not been used off road, just sat on a bike saddle twice a week...
I thought the price was pretty good - now I know why, they only last two months!!
We asked Chris for photos of his tights and the photos showed what looked like snags in the fabric rather than manufacturing faults. We offered him our accident replacement scheme. - Alpkit
