They had it all planned out. They'd assiduously plotted their route, packed provisions with the greatest care, and risen early to avoid the traffic. It was to be a weekend of adventure, of conquering mountains and exploring valleys; a weekend of once-in-a-lifetime views and breathtaking landscapes.
They had it all planned out, but unfortunately Dave had left his OS Explorer Map on top of the fridge. Looks like it's back to the drawing board.
Ordnance Survey Maps need almost no introduction, but we like introducing things so we’ll do it anyway.
Explorer maps are the most detailed series produced by Ordnance Survey, so naturally they're also the most popular.
Indicating footpaths, bridleways and trails, boundary lines, landscape features and places of interest, these maps are an essential for planning routes. They're also spot on for working out exactly where you are when you're not quite sure (there's no shame in it, we've all been there), so no more admitting defeat and asking for directions.
The only thing that these maps can't do is guarantee good weather, but I suppose we can't all be perfect.
