A durable duffle bag with a C-shaped zip opening so that you can easily get to your wares (less time rummaging for stuff, more time doing stuff). With a 25 year Alpine Bond these are true duffle bags for life.
The main design features of ours are durability and simplicity. Because it’s so simple it’s light, so it won’t add weight onto your luggage. With abrasion-resistant 500 D Cordura at the top, 1100d in the base, nylon webbing and bartacked stress-points, it’s light but also tough.
They have a horseshoe zip and reinforced base to make it easier to pack and unpack, with a zipped valuables pouch inside so you don’t lose your keys. The base is shaped to pack down flat when you’re not using it. Our kitbags will feel just as at home strapped to a horse riding out of Bariloche as it would if you were fishing out your trad gear at the bottom of a wintry welsh roadside crag.
Our kitbags are designed and made for adventure in the UK
We make our Kitbags in our own factory in the UK. Ray cuts the fabric, Rob, Julie, Debbie and Gemma stitch them together, all under the watchful eye of Lily and Andrew our factory manager.
Kitbag is available in 30, 50 and 70 litre capacity off the shelf, but as they’re all made in our UK factory, we can customise kitbags to your specification. Just get in touch and we will give you a quote.
- 50 l capacity is spot on for a whole week or a weekend away with a variety of activities.
- Horseshoe zip with two zips so it’s easy to find and organise your stuff.
- Eyelets in zip puller so you can padlock it up (they’re glow in the dark too).
- Padded base packs down flat when you’re not using it.
- 1100 d Cordura is tough and hardwearing.

Built like a battleship
At last a bag that puts substance before style. Probably the nearest you are ever likely to get to indestructible in the real world. The fabric is excellent and the way the web strap handles are sown all around the bag avoids the usual and fairly obvious mounting (failure) point. Also a top quality 2 way zip (Vislon/tooth) that looks like its up to the job as opposed to the cheaper coil zip, often used.
Overall a great bag for the money. Could it be improved ?Yes the simple straight opening is a slight disappointment and with a C shared zip this bag would probably be in a league of its own.
Great Bag... Could Be Even Better...
Well done, Alpkit! This is is great bag, and I love the fact that it’s made here in the UK! I also love the fact that the bag takes up minimal room when stored. A few tweaks would make it even better. Principally, it needs a C-shaped opening. The current straight-line opening makes it awkward to pack and difficult to judge whether it will close; it also means that the zip pulls have a habit of ‘disappearing’ into the fold of zip baffle. I would have liked an optional shoulder strap. Still, I am very happy with my purchase.
This bag did stunning service as a pull out bag containing most of my camping gear on a recent velomobile tour in Scotland. Great to have everything contained in a lift out/drop in bag. Kept everything contained in the bike. Kept everything contained in the tent.
Best feature - no feet... Many high street bags have feet which threaten to damage both bike and tent ground sheet.
