Whether you’re skiing Glen Coe or going for an ascent of Pitz Badile, you need to get your layering system perfect from bottom to top. Your whole layering system.

There’s no point in donning all your high-tech clothing if you’re wearing a pair of cotton undies underneath it all.

Kepler briefs let you start your layering system the right way.

Cut for comfort, the high waistline stays away from where your other garments may sit in your layering system, a wide waistband prevents rubbing and keep the briefs from riding down.

The low-profile, slim-fit cut and exquisitely soft ultrafine merino fabric will make these suitable for active use.

The Kepler range uses beautiful, ultrafine merino for a luxuriously comfortable next-to-skin feel.

With thermoregulatory and anti-microbial properties, merino wool is more than a match for day-in, day-out use across the temperatures in changeable mountain conditions, help you to stay fresh, comfortable, and protected no matter what the weather decides.

We use 100% natural New Zealand merino from non-mulesing farms.

Product Care Information

The better you look after this merino garment, the better it will look after you. Give your Kepler a long, happy life with these tips:

Hand wash your merino in lukewarm water, or gentle machine wash.

Darn any holes as soon as possible so they don’t grow.

Avoid snagging, vigorous machine washing, putting your finger through the fabric, and hungry moths.

Alpkit's wooly banana hammock is a great alternative to boxers, which I find almost always too warm and/or annoying.
Look and feel pretty much like yer standard soft poly undies, nice high wide waistband.

brief review

Alpkit's shreddies are a cut above the rest. Fit, material and function on par with the other Kepler merino kit. I tend to overheat in boxer shorts and trunks, so good to have these available as briefs.

Nice material, not an ideal fit

I am 31-32 in waist fit normally, but find the medium a bit loose, not just the sizing, but the leg 'elastic' does not seem to keep them in place very well, so as another reviewer found, they tend to ride up a bit to where you don't want them to go! They are a bit skimpy round the bum cheeks too, hence, if I dropped a size I think the fit would actually be worse. Next will be trying some Runderwear.

Not great fit

They are not snug fitting, and would not buy again, think due to merino wool material and the cut/design are a bit weird.

more material needed

I bought a pair of these for a trip to Nepal at the end of the year, after hearing good things about merino wool such as being odour resistant. My waist is between 30" and 32" so based on the size guiding I opted for a medium. The material seems good but unfortunately the size doesn't work for me. I felt that when I put them on they gave me a bit of a wedgie and I wish there was just a bit more material to cover my backside. As expected, because they don't fit well after putting them on, I found when I walk they ride up and become really uncomfortable. This may just be something where the size may or may not fit you depending on body type. Maybe the boxer version will prevent this issue.
