We always say it’s what’s on the inside that counts.
These Hunka XLs have minor cosmetic flaws in the form of light marks in the hood. But we look past all this and appreciate for them for their extra performance, which still meets the high standards we’ve come to expect from our lightweight bivvy baggs. All the same, we’re passing them on to you at a reduced price because they’re not as perfect as we’d want them to be.
The source of the mark?
There’s a small black Hypalon tab in the bivvy bag hood at the drawcord adjustor. The dye in this tab is usually inert when the Hunkas are shipped over to us, but this wasn’t the case for this batch. The red part in the dye had more of an affinity with the Hunka fabric than the Hypalon tab, so it transferred over during shipping.
The dye will not continue to transfer onto your Hunka XL as it is now inert – we’ve done dry rub testing to make sure of it. We also did hydrostatic head tests and tensile strength tests to make sure that the fabric wasn’t compromised.
So what you’re looking at is a small red mark on the inside of the hood of your bivvy bag. Take a look at the detailed photos for more details, or at the Hunka XL product page for more on how it performs.
