supporting a day of climbing fun for the next generation

Alpkit are delighted to be supporting this years Youth Climbers Festival at The Climbing Works in Sheffield. This annual event will once again be held on the last Thursday of August (28th). As a company that has supported youth climbing development through the years, we can certainly see the benefits of these kind of events in really pushing forward the next generation of climbers and the whole climbing scene in general.

Michelle Forrest, Chief instructor at The Climbing Works says "Over the past 6 years the YCF has become very popular with all young climbers that enjoy bouldering at The Climbing Works. The emphasis of the day is to have fun and provides a great way to end the summer holidays.

The instructors start off the festival with energetic warm up games to shake of any nerves and then the competitors are split into smaller groups depending on their age and ability. Although there are prizes for the winners we also reward those who show an array of enthusiasm, support and progression."
