Handy with a sewing machine? Want to join the team? We want to hear from you!

Sewing2

In December 2011 we set up a small, in-house factory to produce our own bouldering mats.  A year later we started manufacturing our bike luggage range, demand for which has exceeded all expectations and consequently we are now looking to recruit machinists to join our friendly, hard-working team.

Ideally you will have experience of automatic lockstitch sewing machines and heavy fabrics.  Cutting, binding, bar tacking and zip insertion experience would also be an advantage, however if you are a MYOG-o-holic with a head for knuckling down and getting a job done with enthusiasm and passion give us your best shot; we are like skittles ready to be bowled over.  The successful candidate must be self-motivated, take pride in producing high-quality products from start to finish and be able to hit the ground running as we have a full production schedule to fulfill.

Alpkit is a small team and, as excellent customer service and high quality products are our bread and butter, you will be an important part of what we do.  We have a relaxed working environment but we work hard.  Coffee (Tea for the non-believers) is always to hand, decent music is almost always on but when there is stuff to do, we knuckle down and get on with the job.

We are initially offering a temporary, 8 week contract to meet our current production schedule however it may be possible to extend this as the product range continues to develop. We work Monday to Friday and the shifts and hours would be negotiable.  Salary will meet the National Minimum Wage.

Interested? Please send your CV along with a covering letter/email explaining why you would like to be part of the team to Jenni Crombie at jobs@alpkit.com or by post to: Alpkit Ltd. Units 12-14 Oak House, Moorgreen Industrial Park, Engine Lane. Newthorpe. Nottingham. NG16 3QU.
