New bikes, great gear and more on show in London
We love heading down to the Excel for London Bike Show. First of all, it's a great opportunity for us to get down South for a change (since you'll normally find us heading North for the mountains), meet the customers we rarely see and catch up on all the nice places they're going and good things they're doing. For us, hearing all their daring deeds is our highlight, from small weekend bikepacking trips around UK National Parks, to month-long mountaineering expeditions, we hear it all and we can't get enough!
There's also always a great buzz around big shows like this, everyone comes together under one roof and it's always exciting to see what might be around that's new and shiny. Every year we head down with a bunch of new gear that were mere concepts in the minds of our developers just the year before. It's always great to see how things have developed, and this year was no different.
Finally, being a bike show, it's our chance to show off all our Sonder bikes. Show off we did! Including a first sneak peak of the full suspension FS29er Proto-Bike fitted with a dropper post compatible prototype seatpack. If that doesn't get you excited enough, we brought along the Signal Ti. Yet to be released, the Signal Ti is our new 29er titanium hard tail that has recently returned from Nepal after Alpkiteer Neil Cottam put it through it's paces on the Pokhara IV. Here's some snaps we got from the weekend, including the exciting new developments!
We took the full range of Sonder bikes down for the weekend. We can't wait to see what might be new in the range for next year... Watch this space!
A bed for when the show was getting too much for some. We set-up what you might expect from a typical bivvy trip with the Alpkit crew... Of course everyone has their favourite way to pitch their tarp, just as long as it keeps you dry.
Here for all your bikepacking needs, we packed out this frontier with everything you might need for a multi-day trip to your favourite destination.
The sonder Evol couldn't help but turn heads.
Made from a tough and lightweight fabric, attached to the Sonder Colibri is our new bike luggage, designed to be more streamlined and super-light for when weight really matters. The only problem is that now we're all fighting over who gets to test it out next.
From minimalist and lightweight to ultimate comfort and warmth, we had all the mats needed for a great nights sleep after a hard day on your feet.
Keeping them wheels turning.
Here's a sneaky peak at the new full suspension 29er, designed for those big days out.
Here it is in all its glory, the new hard-tail Signal Ti. This seriously agile 29er is one bike we all can't wait to test out the trails with.
We had an incredible weekend down in London and we highly recommend you get yourselves down there for next year. We'd also like to say a great big thank you to all the amazing people that stopped by to tell tales of daring deeds, we were loving it!
