Supporting adventurous travel and expeditions

Adventurefund-2

Alpkit are delighted to be supporting The Adventure Fund, an annual grant established to support individuals or groups who display a creative and innovative approach towards adventurous travel and expeditioning. Into its second year we are excited to be getting involved at this stage with something aimed at encouraging and supporting a true spirit of adventure. With an exciting year in the pipeline for Alpkit, we are really looking forward to seeing how we can build this relationship going forward as it fits perfectly with our product range.

This years winner of The Adventure Fund came from ski mountaineer Ian Bolliger, who's expedition will be looking at new routes and descents in the remote Revelations Range, Alaska. After establishing a basecamp they will head out exploring new routes and establishing first descents on a variety of slopes amongst the spires in this beautiful mountain range. The expedition will head out to Alaska on the 11th of June and we'll be sure to bring back reports as soon as possible. It will also be featured in upcoming Sidetracked items. For a summary of the pick of this years entries, check it out over in the Sidetracked News

The Adventure Fund is associated with online (and now printed) adventure journal, Sidetracked magazine. A journal featuring a collection of personal stories of adventure travel, exploration, journeys and expeditions, with a strong focus on quality photography. The concept is simple: to capture the emotion and experience of adventures and expeditions throughout the world… and to inspire. They have recently launched their first printed issue, bringing an exciting, eclectic mix of adventures to the reader in a beautifully considered volume. They are now already feverishly working on volume two.
