Supporting ROCfest 2014

ROCfest returns for another year and we will be there supporting it.

Back in 2013 we experienced our first ROCfest bouldering competition in Manchester. It was packed, lively and full of energy. The atmosphere of the final buzzed due to the somewhat excited compering of Tom Stewart and the up close feel the enthusiastic crowd got. Along with a stand of bouldering mats we had a team competeing during the day, from which Tom Newman went on to finish 3rd.
This year we're excited to be going back, in what is an expanded Rock Over Climbing, to support the event. We are extremely pleased and excited to be providing prizes for both the 7-9 and 10-12 age categories. It's easy to focus on the elite and senior climbers, but from our early days we've always felt it important to support up and coming climbers where we can. By providing some decent prizes for the winners of these younger categories it hopefully gives them some encouragement and confidence to keep pushing their climbing. There are some of our UK made Phud and Mujo bouldering mats up for grabs in the top spots.
We'll be there enjoying proceedings with a small bouldering display showing off our new mutant edition UK made bouldering mats and Filo down jacket. There will also be an Alpkit team mooching around the competition, so cheer them on! This year we've dragged Kenny, Ben and Ashleigh out of Alpkit HQ and they will be ably joined by Paul Phillips.
ROCfest 2014 is totally sold out which highlights the popularity of this event, so we are expecting it to be another busy and lively day.
See you all there!
