A weekend of talks, films, runs and races around Castleton YHA
RunYHA is returning to YHA Castleton in the heart of the Peak District in Derbyshire - Friday 8th to Sunday 10th May 2015
We are delighted to be supporting it this year with a Friday evening night run. After last years inaugural RunYHA this year will feature more runs and races through the beautiful Peak District on the doorstep of YHA Castleton, which will be hosting talks and films.
Yes the Alpkit Night Run will be a 6km guided run (with the help of Dave Taylor) out from Losehill Hall, divided into two pace groups. One group for the more experienced and another for those wanting to get a first taste of running in the dark. What's more, all entrants will also recieve one of our Gamma headtorches as part of the entrance fee. Entry is still open!
Before hand there will be a talk from the legendary Billy Bland and if run fast enough you can get back in time to catch a double bill of endurance race films to see out the evening.
Saturday will feature the King and Queen of the Mountain race, a hilly 10k loop trail run and a talk from Wild Running authors Jen and Sim Benson.
If that's warmed you up then on Sunday will see the Skylite Half Marathon. A shorter 23.5km, but no less spectacular version, of the famous Edale Skyline route. The weekend ends with a screening of The Barkley Marathons-The Race That Ate Its Young. Winner of Sheffield Adventure Film Festival’s Best Running Film award.
