Alpkit supporting WomenClimb

We are supporting Women Climb's IndieGoGo campaign
At the heart of Alpkit is a strong core of climbers, we have a range of interests from bouldering, with ex Junior GB team on staff, Ben our factory supervisor having ticked a few 8a sport routes, loads of trad climbers and Alpine dreamers all working away day to day in the office. We have also recently started to distribute the Fixe Roca brand from Spain as well as our UK made bouldering pads and loads of climbing related goodies.
This passion for climbing has led us to support a number of comps, grass roots climbing coaching and supporting younger members of the climbing community. One of our youngest climber is Erin Cowley - a young girl who loves getting out climbing and has an infectious amount of psyche!
We noticed a few tweets coming from an account called @WomenClimb - after clicking the links we found a new site specifically promoting getting ladies out climbing. After a few e-mail conversations and a tweet to Emily, Women Climb's founder, we had a meeting set up. After some advice from UKC that every Thursday at Alpkit is Fish and Chip day, Emily made a gap in her schedule to come over to Alpkit HQ and see what we were all about.
A common love for climbing and a keen interest in getting more people involved, Emily's go getting attitude filled us with enthusiasm for the site and we agreed to help out. As well as arranging to send some gear over for testing and in general helping out with events, advertising and some help with the digital marketing side we are really pleased to be supporting the campaign with limited edition t-shirts.
The IndieGoGo Campaign is to help set up the website to have a fully functioning forum, help with web development costs as well as annual hosting costs. Along with the website Emily has even more events planned - going along to established events and organising women only climbing trips as well as general climbing gatherings. Our staff here; Ashleigh, Ola and Toria are really interested in a Peak Grit meet for ladies, and we want to suport more of these kind of events.
Check out the IndieGoGo campaign online support it any way you can by sharing the campaign, sponsoring it and getting a T-shirt or by visiting Women Climbs site - watch the Women Climb website trailer below -
