There's plenty of activities in and around stores this bank holiday weekend

It's that time of year again, the August Bank Holiday. This marks a special time of year for us here at Alpkit as we all try and make the most of a long weekend in the summer by cramming in any and every activity we can. Be it climbing in Wales, Munroe bagging in Scotland, riding, running, paddling or all of the above, sometimes it feels like it's the last chance to seize the warmer and longer days. After all... "Winter is coming".

Adventure is something that's better when shared, so we want to share the experience of the August Bank Holiday with as many people as possible, and with our stores set up in pretty handy locations for a weekend full of activities, we're not letting it go to waste! Have a look at what we've got in store to take advantage of over the weekend...

ALL WEEKEND

'Try before you buy' bike demos. We're have a clear down sale on all our V1 demo bikes, so if you've been eyeing up a Sonder, now's as good a chance as any to pick one up!

Free gear repairs - Free Bike Demos (call the store to book) - Continuum Foundation Donation Point - Free and personally tailored advice from local experts - Free tea, coffee and nibbley bits for all.

SATURDAY 25th

09:30-10:30 - Social run with Alpkit Hathersage running club, lead by store hero and local expert Andy. (FREE - JOIN US ON THE DAY)

16:30-17:15 - An Injury Prevention Open Forum, with Adventure Pedlar and Hope Yoga's Alice McNeil. 

18:30-20:30 - An Evening of Adventure - Join us for a jam packed evening of inspirational adventures as we're joined by Hope Yoga's Alice McNeil and GB Paracyclist Steve Bate, plus a special screening of Andy McKenna's short documentary 'This Way Up'. Definitely not an evening to be missed so we highly recommend booking your place to guarantee you a seat! This will be a free event, but we will also be accepting donations towards Andy's 'Stoked on MS' campaign to raise awareness of the incurable neurological disease Multiple Sclerosis. 

SUNDAY 26th

09:30-16:30 - SofA: Paddling the Derwent River - Discover the joys of canoeing in non other than the beautiful waters of Derwent River (£30pp - CALL TO BOOK - 01433 730930)

10:00-13:00 - Adventure Photography Workshop - Learn how to catch nature off guard and shoot like a pro with store hero and local photography expert Joe.

MONDAY 27th

10:00-12:00 - An Introduction to Fell Running (plus kit advice) Morning Session - Fell running guide Dave Taylor will help you develop your skills out on the fells and cover vital pieces of kit. 

14:00-16:00 - An Introduction to Fell Running (plus kit advice) Afternoon Session - Fell running guide Dave Taylor will help you develop your skills out on the fells and cover vital pieces of kit.

09:30-12:30 - Guided SUPping Morning Session with Lake SUP - Go for a gentle journey up the Lake and into the mouth of the River Brathay. Following the twists and turns of the river we hope to spot some of the local wildlife, but only if your'e quiet! 

13:30-16:30 - Guided SUPping Afternoon Session with Lake SUP - Go for a gentle journey up the Lake and into the mouth of the River Brathay. Following the twists and turns of the river we hope to spot some of the local wildlife, but only if your'e quiet! 

SUNDAY 26th

10:00-13:00 - Join MTB guide and local trail expert Lucy for a guided ride around the Lakes. Open for beginner to intermediate level riders, the route will be decided on the day. Places are limited so book on quick! 

16:00-17:00 - Be prepared for big days out with this Bike Maintenance and Trailside Repairs Workshop run by MTB guide and local trail expert Lucy 

MONDAY 27th

09:30-11:00 - Get wet with Suzanna Swims - Head off for a social wild swim down in the lake
