A weekend to kick start our new Alpkit flagship store

We know the store is already open but we wanted to have a bit more of an event to mark this landmark in our history. So this weekend we're putting on some events and will have speakers and skill sessions instore.

We'll open on Saturday morning with some of our founders, some familiar faces from head office and Alpkiteers along with some glasses of fizz and beer (kindly provided by Thornbridge Brewery) for a ribbon cutting.

On Saturday we are offering free 2 hour demo rides on a range of Sonder Bikes. Please contact Dan at the store for details on 01433 730930 to book or turn up on the day and see whats available. You will need to bring helmet and your choice of shoes and pedals along with ID and a credit card with a limit enough for us to take an authorisation for the price of the bike.

Saturday Evening we have Dave Taylor from Fell Running Guide running an intermediate level run from the shop at 5pm, please wear appropriate clothing and footwear for a couple of hours of offroad running. Contact Dan at the store for details on 01433 730930 to book.

At 7pm on Saturday we have Alpkiteers Rich and Tom Seipp in to talk about their cycling adventures. Tom is just 11 but already has a list of cycling challenges and events to his name that any cyclist would be proud of.

Rich and Tom will also be instore during the day to answer questions on bikes. bikepacking and their adventures.

For those eager to get out on Sunday we'll have guided demo rides with Pete from Adventure Pedlars leading a couple of routes. The first will leave at 9:30 and be back for 12:30 latest and the second will be from 1:30 to 4:30. You will need to bring helmet and your choice of shoes and pedals along with ID and a credit card with a limit enough for us to take an authorisation for the price of the bike.  We have a range of bikes available and wil try and make the ride fit best with the range of bikes booked.  There's a maximum of 8 riders per ride, so please contact Dan in the store on 01433 730930 to book a ride.

Dave Taylor will again run guided runs on Sunday, we're hoping to get a morning run 10 am - 12 and afternoon run 2pm - 4 and these will be tailored to the ability of the group, again bring appropriate clothing and footwear for a couple of hours of offroad running. Contact Dan at the store for details on 01433 730930 to book.

On Monday if you've still got energy to burn then we will be running a mid morning guided run 10 am -12 with Dave Fell Running Guide and guided rides on the same schedule as Sunday - depending on interest.

In the afternoon we have Alpkiteer Aleks Kashefi coming in to talk about his #RunEuropeNorthtoSouth this will be at 2pm upstairs in the store. Come along and hear his story.

As well as these more organised events we will have other things going on including experts from our head office team to advise on products, we'll have members of our factory team in store to advise and help on repairs and talk thorugh our UK made products. There will be members of our Alpkiteer athlete team on hand and other activities still TBC.

So come down and see what we're up to over the weekend.
