The Sonder Camino is arguably the most versatile bike in the Sonder Bikes range.

The Sonder Camino is arguably the most versatile bike in the Sonder Bikes range.

The unassuming clean lines and relaxed geometry paired with the smooth riding character that only titanium can offer hides a beast of a bike always asking to go further and further afield.

We wanted the Camino AL to share the exhilarating mix of speed and versatility of the Camino Ti at a slightly more accessible price point.

The geometry of the aluminium version is the same as its titanium counterpart, so you get that longer wheelbase for stability, a raised headtube that gives comfort and control on rough ground and clearance for 700x44 or 650bx48 tyres with space for the mud you may also encounter too.

But don’t be fooled into thinking this bike is a slouch.  When fitted with 700 x 30mm slick tyres it will whip along on your favourite sections of tarmac. Alternatively slip in a set of our new 650b Volution wheels and some 48c ‘road-plus’ tyres and it becomes a singletrack racer, eating up the miles with comfort and control. Even we have been surprised just how capable this bike is off-road. To the extent that we’ve ridden some of our favourite Peak district trails on it.

The Camino AL features a 6061 T6 aluminium frame with a full complement of rack, mudguard and boss-mounts. The fork features carbon legs with pannier and mudguard mounts and an alu steerer for durability and strength.

The Camino AL is a truly versatile machine – build it up as your everyday commuter workhorse or load it with panniers and bags and disappear for 2 months, maybe you’re somewhere in between, if you’re looking for that one bike to do a bit of everything then the Camino could be for you.

We offer a range of build options to suit budget and usage so should able to build your perfect bike, and with frame and fork from £300 and full builds starting at £749 it crucially dips under that bike-to-work £1k limit.
