Daring Deeds - real stories, expeditions, road trips and adventure

Ok, so I haven’t done an update for a while, so here’s a little bit about what I’ve been up to recently. Due to recent events in the paddling world its brought to the front of all of our minds how we need to know how to help each other on a river, so me and some friends attended a 3 day safety and rescue course, ran by Jules Burnard (Voyageur Coaching) held on the River Dee in Wales. This I found to be an excellent refresher for all of my rescue skills, even if the water was freezing and there was snow on the ground, luckily I managed to borrow a dry suit!
Next was the Tvfreestylers 3rd birthday party, an excellent day of fun competitions organised at Hurley. For a full write up see the Tvfeestylers site. Thank-you to Dave and everyone that helped him organise such a great day, where the sun shone and the sky was blue
Since then it’s been team training and focusing on the up coming Europeans in June. I’ve spent a lot of time at HPP training, and had a weekend at the Tryweryn. I’m looking forward to a good summer of competitions both at home and abroad, UK Freestyle are for the first time running a league system, looks like there could be some good comps this summer! First up is the Tryweryn in 2 weeks time…..
