Round 2 at the Nottingham Climbing Centre

By Ashleigh Naysmith | 02, Apr, 2009

The second round of the 2009 BRYCS series is here all too soon! The team was looking forward to this round at their local wall and was expecting to be just as competitive as the last round, even though the fact they showed up was enough for me. The whole event went smoothly and the routes (set by Deg and Dan) were excellent. Some people were saying some were harder than the grade; we like to think of them as more challenging than harder.

The Results
In the boys 14 – 16 category Ben Meakin climbed very well and was the only climber in his category to finish the final route. He finished in 2nd place. James Parrish also climbed well and came 6th.

In the girls 14 – 16 category Ailsa Graham climbed excellently and took 2nd place.

In the boys 11 – 13 category Billy Ridal climbed very well finishing in 3rd place. Alfie Elliott-Anderson, who climbed brilliantly, came 6th.

In the girls 11- 13 category Naomi Tilley climbed superbly and kept her position of 1st place despite Nat Graham, still hot on Naomi’s heels, climbing excellently. Nat finished a close 2nd. Gracie Martin, the newest member of our team, climbed exceptionally and finished in 3rd place. Leah Talbot climbed brilliantly, finishing in 11th place.
