NITro North 2015 Results

A dark 10k of off road running adds an extra challenge

The other weekend saw our first involvement with NITro off road night running events. It was a good turn out and despite having to run in the dark everyone seemed to have a good time!

Graeme Corlett of ThisOneCounts gives his summary of the evening.

"It was dark, very dark but the weather was dry, clear and windy for the 4th edition of the NITro North night trail running event held around a challenging route within the Clwyd forest, North Wales on Saturday evening 7th March. The race route was a real mix of wide forest tracks, single track, tough ascents and fast descents taking the runners around this area of outstanding natural  beauty.

Rob Grantham took a commanding lead from early on and flew around the course in a very fast 40:05 winning the male category ahead of Richard Davies in second place with 42:39, and David Shepherd in third with 45:48. In the female category it came down to the wire with Sarah Linton taking the win with a time of 53:04 ahead of second place Ellie Robinson with 53:08, third place was Val Ormsby with a time of 53.54.

This year NITro North also welcomed a contingent of canicross runners who were all fantastic adding to the unique event atmosphere. We want to thank everyone for making this night race a success. NITro will be back in 2016"
