We need a bigger team! Come and help us with our UK production of outdoor gear.

Keen to get involved with some UK outdoor gear microfacture? If you have a passion for the outdoors then come and help us put that passion into the products we make, come and join the team here at our cosy little HQ.

Job title: Factory Assistants/Machinists

It really is exciting times at the moment here in the Alpkit HQ factory as it continually goes from strength to strength, so consequently we are looking to recruit staff to join our friendly, hard-working team. Not only do we need more people to keep up with the demand of our hugely popular bike luggage and bouldering equipment, we are working towards production of packs as well, so we are always on the lookout for both factory assistants and experienced machinists.

Even if you've never stepped in a factory before, don't let it put you off. If the enthusiasm is there then so will the oppurtunities to be involved in all aspects of making a product, from the very start to the very end and there will be training potential at all stages. 

Overall objective: To work as part of the factory team making awesome stuff. 

Factory Assistant will be responsible for:

Cutting orders
Assist production manager with all aspects of production
Complete quality control checks
Use a heat press, to logo up products
Reduce wastage
Lifting heavy weights - Don't worry you don't need to benchpress 250kg
Ensuring timely delivery of parts and materials to the sewing line


Our products are built to last and therefore we are also looking for experienced machinists, who will know there way around a lockstitch sewing machine and have an eye for precision and quality control. It would be advantageous to have used a variety machines and have previous experience of working with heavy materials, but not essential.

Personal qualities:

A team player, able to work off own initiative and manage own deadlines
Highly organized and accurate with a keen eye for detail
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Working on your feet most of the day

Working hours Part time or Full time depending on aptitude to learn new skills (full training given).

Alpkit is a small team, with excellent customer service and high quality products that are our bread and butter. You will be an important part of  what we do. We have a relaxed working environment but work hard. Tea and coffee is always to hand, decent music is always on but when there is stuff to do, we knuckle down and get the job done.
