Extending the riding experience in the Scottish highlands.
Spring is coming and it’s certainly time to think about going bikepacking and extending your time out on the trails. There’s nothing quite like not having to come back from a ride!
The latest Great Rock mountain biking video will be out soon and features lots of Alpkit bikepacking kit. Rig tarps, Hunka bivvy bags, titanium cookware and of course the hugely popular frame bags backed up with a Gourdon 30 rucksack and Airlok XTra's, a perfect set up for a multi day riding experience. We can’t reveal too much yet but we are of course delighted to be supporting it. The video follows Ed Oxley as he rides up into the eastern Highlands of Scotland to enjoy some bothy and bivi nights. He is joined by Andy McKenna, the well known bike guide who runs Go Where Scotland and the pair go off in search of great trails and a special whisky!
The video was shot and is being edited by Benji Haworth a regular at the Big Shakeout. Benji, Ed and Andy have been using Alpkit gear for some time now and the video will show various bits of kit in action, all within the majestic setting of the Cairngorms.
