News - update on all things Alpkit
Our Hathersage Store opened its doors on 14 April 2017 and it feels great. Come rain or shine, we will be open every day except Christmas Day and you will be able to find our full range, including our Sonder bikes with a bike repair workshop, fleet of demo bikes and Gear Repair Station and Workshop coming soon.
Now that the doors are open we had better introduce you to the core store team.
First up is local lad (Fast) Freddie Oxley, Freddie is a bike rider and keen photographer and will be looking after the Sonder Bike room in store.
Ben has worked with Alpkit for a while now in customer service and running our events on the road, he's also a qualified white water guide. When he's not at work he loves to be on or in the water or out climbing, he also has 2 Shiba Inu dogs who go everywhere with him, Ben will be covering the full range of Alpkit product in store.
Lola is a dive master and super keen runner, she also loves to climb but much prefers big wall adventures to bouldering. Lola will be on hand to answer questions on the full range of Alpkit product in store.
Dan's spent a couple of years in the cycling industry after a few years in customer services. Road and gravel riding are his main passion. It's his job to make sure the team help you #goniceplacesdogoodthings
If you are around in the Peak District make sure you pass though Hathersage. You will find us on the main road, if there are no parking spaces in The Square the best place to park is the car park by the swimming pool. There is a shortcut from the car park which brings you out on the main road by Outside. Continue 100 yards up the road and you will see us on the left.

Bags and stuff
Top shop and top people brilliant friendly ace
From your beginnings in that little pokey warehouse in Il'son all the way to this I've followed AK and bought my Pipedream, my Alpkit, my Gourdons and my drybags that have come with me as a Ranger volunteer in my rucksack for the past 10 years.
Its great that AK has presence in the Peaks and will hopefully be putting the other retail occupants of Hathersage to shame. See you in a few days when I'll be needing some new aly pegs
Good luck folks
Hope the store is the massive success it deserves to be.
Thank you Alpkit!!
I hope that I get to see your store someday and meet the people behind the brand. I may not be a typical Alpkit customer and am certainly not in my first flush of youth but I still have my Filo jackets, my Sky High sleeping bag (so glad to find a bag that doesn't leave me trailing a foot or more of material) and my lovely rugged stuff bags bought back in 2010/2011. I have now taken them around the globe, from Mongolia and China in 2011 to South America last year. This year they will come to Poland with me, be used for a few days camping in Somerset and then off to Australia next Spring (I hope).
Thank you again Alpkit for a brilliant concept, carefully realised and above all with fantastic customer service. May you continue to thrive.
