News - update on all things Alpkit
No we haven't developed a crew of automated naked mannequins to run our new shop, but there is a team busy putting the finishing touches to our second store, in another of our fave outdoor locations - the Lake District - and due to open for this weekend (1st/2nd July). After the fantastic feedback and success of our first store in Hathersage we are exicted about this next move.
Our crew of Ambleside staff are working really hard to finish off all the final work needed to bring a touch of Alpkit to the bustling Ambleside. We are currently working towards opening on Thursday and ready for the weekend. Keep an eye out for more announcements.
There's a lot to live up to and we really hope that we can do Ambleside justice and help maintain the long standing tradition it has as a key destination for those who enjoy getting outdoors. With waterproofs, wetsuits, a range of clothing layers, cookware and bikes, we'll be bringing a full range of equipment to help cover activities from hill walking, fell running and wild swimming, to climbing and biking. We really do hope that we can fit in nicely amongst this awesome location that has so much to offer the outdoor lover.
The new store will not only represent our full range of outdoor equipment, it will also consist of a dedicated room for our Sonder bikes too, perfect for the superb range of trails and roads in the vacinity. We'll also be looking to bring other features of our Hathersage store including Repair Station (although due to space this may be more of a collection/drop-off service for all but the minor repairs) and a Bike Workshop.
We've obviously already made the first step into physical shops with Alpkit Hathersage and this is yet another step in offering our customers the full Alpkit experience as a destination to actually see the products in the flesh, whilst still backed up with the level of online customer service we’ve been highly recognised for over the years. With increasing stores it's not going to change how we work things. We’ve always tried to be open and friendly, even though we’ve been hidden inside your computer screen, and maintaining the service levels and personality will continue to be incredibly important to us.
After the inital soft opening we will be organising some more offical weekend fun and activities for later in July, so make sure to keep an eye out for more information coming soon across our newsletter and Facebook Page.
We look forward to greeting you. So come down, check it out, have a chat, look at some of our kit and bikes. You'll find us at:

Great to see your opening a new store . Looking forward to visiting next time I am in Ambleside.
That explains it, good luck
I wondered what had happened to the Marmot shop when I was up that way last week. Hope it goes well.
