Alpkit Action GoPro Night

By Col | 29, Nov, 2012

The GoPro demo team will be at Alpkit HQ for an evening of GoPro fun.

Our very own Alpjim was one of the first people in the UK to get a GoPro to review. As a tester for Canoe Kayak magazine he took it down to Holme Pierrepont, attached it to a set of paddles and Bluuupppp. It sank less than 2mins out of the box, never to be seen again. We are quite sure it's unharmed, probably still works but will be somewhere between West Bridgford and Norway. Since then there has been a quiet evolution of the tiny HD camera in a waterproof box.

GoPro film night - find out how you can become a Hero.

There is only one way to see how you need a GoPro in your life, and that's to get out and use one. On December 13th with the help and support of GoPro and Madison we will be having a GoPro night here at Alpkit HQ. We will have a selection of cameras, mounts and computers so you can set up shots, film, edit and even watch them on our 162in wide screen. So if you've ever been wondering about the possibilities of what can be done with these hardy little cameras, then this will be an ideal chance to get some hands on use and ask any questions. Madison will be supplying all the kit, along with Go Pro guru Paul and his van who will be able to answer any technical queries and give any pointers.

A bit about the latest GoPro: The Wi-Fi enabled HERO3: Black Edition is the most advanced GoPro, ever. No expense was spared during its development, resulting in a GoPro that is 30% smaller, 25% lighter and 2x more powerful than previous models. Wearable and gear mountable, waterproof to 197' (60m), capable of capturing ultra-wide 1440p 48fps, 1080p 60 fps and 720p 120 fps video and 12MP photos at a rate of 30 photos per second, the HERO3: Black Edition is the world's most versatile camera.

We will open the door around 6.00 pm and finish up at 9.00 pm. There will be free tea and coffee, plenty of kit to play with and we hope to get some winter surfing to enjoy.

Register your interest in coming along on our Facebook events page and feel free to share it with all your friends. For those eager to start filming their adventures, a selection of GoPro equipment will be arriving in the Alpkit shop soon.
