Hooked on sea kayaks

moving from freestyle play boats to sea faring adventure crafts

Having a few days off work we decided to venture off to the outer hebrides, for a mini adventure sea kayaking. The aim was to see how many islands we could explore in a few days. Now I've done plenty of overnighting in a river kayak and have always loved sleeping on the beach and being self sufficient from my boat, my favourite being multi day kayak trips in Nepal.

I was excited to see what sea kayaking could offer....I was not disappointed, what i found was these kayaks are designed for this, for going out there exploring and sleeping on the beach, no more cramming sleeping bags into the back of the boats, and having to ration food, these boats have space! You can take what you like and they handle even better when loaded, these boats are made for adventures.

1st night camp...could be anywhere in the world!

For those that are seasoned sea kayakers you're probably thinking 'well obviously this is what they are designed for', but for everyone else I recommend you get out there and have a go, a great way off seeing our little islands from the sea.

This is Scotland!! Isle of Shillay

I'll certainly be spending much more time in a sea kayak, I think im hooked!

Camp 2, what a view

In my view there is nowhere better than the Outer Hebrides for sea kayaking.
