The BMC

BMC support the Big Shakeout.

Established in 1944, the British Mountaineering Council (BMC) is the UK’s national representative body for climbers, hill walkers and mountaineers in England and Wales. Their work is broad-ranging: protecting access to the hills and cliffs, investigating equipment failures, providing expert safety advice, organising competition climbing, producing climbing guidebooks, supporting clubs and their huts, and much more. They also provide leading travel insurance focussed on adventure sports and produce their own national magazine, Summit.
