Festival EssentialsWondering what you'll need for the Big Shakeout Festival? Wonder no more, just read our handy kit list instead!
Can you believe it's nearly September? Gee whiz, it's not long until the Big Shakeout Festival! Don't worry - the beers have been tested, the shaker makers are raring to go, and here at HQ we're feeling fairly prepared (*gulp*)… how about you?
Time flies, so to give you one less thing to think about, here's our checklist of essentials that you definitely don't want to forget for the Big Shakeout Festival, (although if you do, you can always pick up some bits in the festival shop).
Vital for staying protected against the elements: the tent you need will depend on how many people will be in it and what other adventures you might use it for. Have browse on the Alpkit shelter page for some inspiration!
The Pipedream 400 is the all-rounder sleeping bag for the UK, making it perfect for snuggling down into during a festival in late September.
An ideal UK all-rounder, perfect for end of summer festivals!
Festivals are all about getting a good night's sleep. Okay, maybe not, but it's quality not quantity right? The Dozer may not be our go-to for ultralight adventures, but when it comes to festivals it is spot on. If you want to go sharesies or are feeling particularly luxurious, it comes in double size too…
We're big fans of illuminating any situation, but not every situation calls for the same kind of illumination. Although you can never go wrong with a head torch like the Viper II, we also tend to take along a Lampray for the sheer convenience of being able to charge our phones with it. It's also great for chilling round the tent with your pals!

The Big Shakeout is an end of summer party, so we generally anticipate end of summer weather: warm in the day and cold in the evenings. It's always worth having a Filo Jacket to snuggle into when you cosy round the camp fire.
We hope that you won't need it but there's no point in tempting fate - better safe than, well, wet. True to its name, the Balance Jacket finds the perfect equilibrium between comfort, performance, and fit, making it ideal for festivals where a bit of adventure is involved too.

Sun cream and Cheap Sunglasses
Why not think positive? The Rancho sunglasses are cool sunglasses that won't break the bank, ideal for festivals!
Whether you're lounging around the site or out on adventures, make sure you have a Swig of water every now and then to keep hydrated.
Airloks are great for keeping your stuff dry and for sorting out your toiletries, dirty clothes, and clean clothes. They also double as a pillow when stuffed, which means you don't need to lug a pillow around (and we all know how heavy pillows are!).
If you like it share it!
