This years festival is now SOLD OUT. Big Shakeout 2017 will take place over the weekend from 22nd - 24th September 2017. An Alpkit not-for-profit Festival in the Peak District in partnership with Thornbridge Outdoors with all proceeds going to the Alpkit Foundation.
The Big Shakeout festival is the ideal basecamp for a weekend of adventure in the Peak District. The format is simple, be active during the day and be entertained in the evening. If you have a taste for adventure, want to be inspired and try something new the Big Shakeout is for you. Its a not-for-profit festival with all proceeds donated to the Alpkit Foundation.
There will be free activities onsite that will appeal to families, but if you want more thrills sign up for a School of Adventure course with a qualified instructor. With an emphasis on taster sessions we will give you a set of core skills to take away.
We will give you somewhere to stay, feed you, and entertain you. The Thornbridge Outdoors campground is a beautiful, atmospheric and secluded location to set up camp for the weekend. In the evenings hang up your rucksack and enjoy hearty cooked food, great beer, live music, lectures, fun and games.
The Peak District is known for its world class rock climbing, challenging mountain biking, beautiful caves and fine walking terrain all within a 20 minute radius from Thornbridge Outdoors, adventure for all levels of skill and experience.
