Mel Nicholls

Alpkiteer

2008 saw an end to my marathon and adventure racing goals when a stroke turned my focus down a parallel path. Now, I’m a 2 x Paralympian and World class GB athlete in wheelchair racing and handcycling.

My heart is in endurance and my passion is for adventure… and tea. While continuing to be an endurance athlete, and exploring further by bike, board, on crutches and anyway I can, there’s always a way! I seek out wild and remote places and epic challenges to continue to dream big and go beyond barriers. Outside is my training ground, my playground and where I am happiest. My project work aims to encourage others to find their way to get active outside and see what is great about Britain and beyond, while I aim to merge both performance with adventure to go far, and always with a smile.
