Peak UK Whitewater Challenge - Washburn

The Peak UK White Water Challenge is now in its ninth year making it by far one of the longest established whitewater series in the world. Alpkit™ are pleased to be a headline sponsor of the 2006 series meaning there’ll be plenty of Alpkit goodies to win if you enter.

The event combines playboating with river running skills and caters for everyone from newcomers to World Champions and Olympic paddlers. The main focus is on fun and having a great weekend. Pete has really spiced up the format this year to attract a greater proportion of the paddling public and make it more entertaining for spectators.

This years event will comprise of a Giant Slalom Boater Cross, six paddlers racing head to head through a series of slalom gates down the length of the river in a knock-out format, and a modern Freestyle competition. Points from each discipline are added together to give a final placing.

There will be coaches on hand to give you some useful tips on your paddling, the latest boats will be available for demo and there will be plenty of free water time for casual paddling.

Entry costs a mere £25 and includes paddling all weekend, parties, meal, gifts ( videos, tshirts, magazines etc.. ). Download an entry form to pre-register or turn up before 10am to register on the day.
