Dart 10k Swim

We are more used to being safely tucked up in a kayak, but if you are keen to get more intimate with the river then it sounds idylic….

The OSS Dart 10K is being held on the Dart Estuary on Sunday 12 September at 09:00(AM), and is a rare chance to take part in a supported swim on this special river.

The River Dart rises on Dartmoor in Devon and winds it way over the moors down to the sea at Dartmouth. We will join it at Totnes, swimming 10K downstream to the small waterside village of Dittisham. It’s a beautiful swim in brackish water. Swimmers will be flanked by rolling Devon hills the whole way, with an estuary’s curious mix of sea and fresh water, bladder rack and oak leaves, oyster catchers and kingfishers.

Trans Provence

South France

We are proudly supporting the Trans-Provence mountain bike event again this year. In their second year Ash and Melissa are putting on another helping of the 7 day singletrack adventure across the sunny Mediterranean pre-Alps of South Eastern France. Competitors will be able to recover at the end of each day on our king of comfort the Dozer, which adds to last years Fat Airics.

7 Tribes Endurance Race

South Sinai, Egypt

16-23 November 2010

It is not an Alpkit event but it definitely fell into that category of oooh that’s worth a heads up for someone.. The 7 Tribes Race is an exciting new endurance race in Egypt which will take place for the first time in November 2010.

- The race challenge is to run 110 kilometres of desert terrain in four days.
- The rewards are an unforgettable experience in the stunning scenery of the south Sinai Desert and the satisfaction of helping to provide wells and dams for water to save the desert gardens on which nomadic Bedouin people depend.
- The race ends at the ancient site of Nawamis where runners will join the 7 Tribes Festival, a gathering of the seven Bedouin tribes in South Sinai with camel racing, feasting and music.
