Yes, but the method is a little involved. If you want to replace the whole of the plastic lower tip section this is done either buy using a a hot air blower (paint stripper type thing) or placing the whole tip into boiling water. This process will heat up the glue and break the bond. Now twist carefully with a set of pliers and the plastic section should come off fairly easily. If it doesn’t then you probably have not heated it for long enough. A new tip section can be glued in place using Araldite. Make sure to clean the surface first.
If it just the metal tip section you want to replace then pull with a set of pliers and again glue in (after cleaning) the new tip with Araldite.
Upgrading your old tips
The older style (Red stripe) CarbonLites have a tip design in which the basket pops on and off and is less secure than the twist design found on the new (Helix) design CarbonLites. For this reason users of the old model may wish to upgrade by replacing their tips. This can be achieved by following the guidelines above.
