What can I say, ordered on Tuesday morning, arrived on Wednesday morning. Sterling service as usual. Another one of many Alpkit products I’ve bought (starting to look like I’m sponsored!) Not had a chance to use the bag in anger yet as its just arrived but super chuffed with the quality of the bag (PD 600). Was a bit worried about the snugness of the fit but can get in with my Filo on nae bother for when the mercury plummets and plenty room for the down to loft. Cheers Alpkit (again!)

Pipedream 400 (+Hunka) - was flawless over Easter around Scafell Pike despite the wind and snow, cheaper lighter and warmer than anything else.

Excellent customer service, would buy more alpkit kit if there was more of it.

Two toasty thumbs up.

Ordered my Pipedream 600 over 3 weeks ago: got it as planned, even with a hand written note from Alpkit!

I like to climb mountains (sportclimbing) as I did 2 weekends ago in Gemany, Ith. It was early in the season so the camping was still closed. We decided to sleep on the patio from the little wooden house (not open) that was stationed on the campingsite(why put up a tent when you can sleep in the “open”).

The first night it was around +2 degrees Celsius but the second night the mercury went down to around -3 degrees. First night I had on a T-shirt and my boxers. The second night (because it was going to be cold) I held on my thermal shirt and left my socks on as well. Not for long I had to take of both my socks and my thermal shirt because it was to warm for me!

In the mornings a lot of dew, but that was no problem for my Pipedream: kept me warm and dry. Price is great, quality even better: my fellow camper was jealous because he paid a lot more for equal quality (MacPac).

I give it a 10 out of 10 as for me the weight, quality and price are absolutely brilliant!(The hood could have been a bit bigger and the drawcords, when tightened firm, will cut a little so you have to loosen them. But hey: the bag is under 1 kg!!!)

Thanks Alpkit for this great sleeping bag.

Kind regards,

Gijs

Got to use my Pipedream 400 in anger for the first time last weekend in a wild wet & windy Lake District.I kept thinking the weather wasn’t so bad til I got out of it only to discover it was bloody freezing!Top performance all round.

The Skyehigh 400 (I sleep hot) came this morning and the whole family have compared it with the other bags lying around the house - it’s warmer than a warm thing in a heatwave grin

So… that long version of the PipeDream 600 mensioned a few pages back, i dont suppose there is a time scale in progress?

I bought a long Skyehigh 800 yesterday - it turned up at 9.30 am the following morning and looks fantastic. Will be testing it out in Roybridge this weekend, so will let you know how it performs!

Excellent customer service!

Thanks.

Going to Scotland camping in March. I am a little
concerned that my -9c will not be warm enough.
What do your short length sleeping bag weigh?

I purchased my PD600 sleeping bag via phone in the afternoon and got it in the morning next day! Feels very warm, looks very nice all puffed up and on the other hand very small when packed. can’t wait to take it on my treks to Nepal.

I bought a Pipedream 600 just before Christmas and took it to Scotland at the start of January. Worked amazingly in some bad conditions on Ben Nevis. My friend had a £200 new macpac but there was barely a difference - the only being the larger hole in his pocket!
Thank you Alpkit!

Features at a glance

  • Storage - Each PipeDream bag comes with 3 stuff bags; a 4-way compression bag, lightweight stuff bag and a cotton storage bag.
  • Quality Components - All of component parts of the PipeDream are of the highest quality, YKK zips, Duraflex buckles and accessories.
  • 750 Fill Power Down - We use 95/5 750+ (European scale) fill power Chinese white goose down, the highest quality down available in China suitable for the purpose.
  • Lightweight Shell - The fabric used on the PipeDream is made by Toray, one of the largest and most respected mills in Japan. It weighs a measly 29gm/m2 yet the weave is down proof. We have not used a cheaper polyester fabric for the lining of the bag, the same lightweight nylon continues throughout the construction of the bag.
  • Internal Pocket - Internal zippered chest pocket is handy for storing your wallet or iPod.
