Does anyone make a bag for people 6’4” and not as skinny as a rake, like the pipe dream but will it fit???
I take it the toray fabric will have similar performance levels to pertex?
The pipedreams will be the most efficient warmth/weight.
The Skyehighs the best value.
And the Alpinedream will be at the top end with more features (Expedition orientated)
So what is going to be the sleeping bag series that has the most warmth for its weight, irrespective of the price? I presume the new alpine dream, but its not entirely clear.
‘Pied d’Elephant’ sounds interesting. Will this be a down or synthetic half bag? If it’s down I would suggest using groundsheet material on the underside to help avoid damp creeping into the down. Alternatively, if it’s synthetic, it might be worth making it spacious enough to slip a down bag inside for extra season versatility (may need some compression straps for making it snug sans extra bag).
Will the use of less fill also bring down the cost?
yes people do make extra long sleeping bags. including ourselves it’s just not always possible to keep them in stock. We do have plans to do the pipe dream in Xl but this isnt going to happen this year.
Toray - They are one of the largest high performance textile manufactures in the world, the fabric we have chosen is different rather than better or worse then Pertex. But it is light, down proof and durable(for it’s weight)
