Scrap the Car! well maybe not quite…

Here at Alpkit GHQ the cars days are numbered as more and more often you’ll find the car park empty and sweaty cycle tops airing outside. 

When it comes to to-ing and fro-ing from work I’d been meaning to make more effort in reducing the use of my car for a while, but it’s just so damn convenient, easy, warm, dry, quick, plus it was easier to grab the coffee and doughnuts on the way. Well it needed a change of mind set and I don’t know whether it was the increasing fuel price or the increasing waistline that got me to dust off my rusting old Orange Clockwork. The Alpkit family grows

Nothing gets you ready for the day ahead better than a good nappy change, it ranks alongside a strong coffee to get going in the morning… well maybe not quite, but Liz and I have just embarked on the longest adventure of discovery we’re likely to make. 
Baby Isabelle arrived a little earlier than expected the other day, joining us amid frantic efforts to finish off those long over due diy projects. Not to worry, things will have to be put on hold a little while or fitted in as and when we can. 
I don’t know if I’d really prepared myself for her arrival and becoming a dad, perhaps you can’t. I had not really given it a thought about how I would feel as she was born, what it would be ..

The Alpkit Bouldering League 07/08

Well the Alpkit Bouldering League has come to an end for another year and we’ve been more than happy to give some support again. Thanks to Derek and the team for putting on the event, which saw the usual suspects competing hard. Paul Latham came through with consistently strong performances to take the overall top spot, with Paul Phillips chasing close behind. For the women, Leah Crane came in top of her class, with Beth Monks in second, just ahead of her dad. Sorry Alan, I know you’ve been working hard which probably explains things!
In the Inter league things were even more hotly competed, with nothing to separate Ed Mowbray and David Turner. Polly Blinston took top spot here in the ..
