(How?)
With the warmup trail run out of the way the Saab Salomon got underway with the first of its mountain stages. This was always going to be testing new ground for the Alpkit Mnt-X team who come from a strong background in Triathalon. Underestimating conditions on the glacier the team arrived at the finish line feeling somewhat dehydrated and in 26th position for the stage. The day didn’t finish there, it was followed by a 6km trail run; more familiar ground for the team and placing them in 28th overall. There are some race reports on the SleepMonsters website.
