Gaetan Raymond reports back from the first round of this year’s DTS drytooling tour which took place last Saturday at the new spot of the Bourettes (Hautes-Alpes in France).
The wet weather did not stop some thirty climbers arriving from all over the French Alps. They discovered this wonderful spot developed by the DTS association, which was unfortunately a little wet for the occasion. Some routes below a large roof still let everyone climb and leave with tired arms. Despite the pervasive humidity and mud, there was a good atmosphere as usual during the DTS round. A route made of resin holds was set to test the FigFour drytooling training aids from Alpkit. This route accounted for qualifications and there will also be a FigFour route at the Usine DTS round on December 3rd.
The finalists climbed a D9 route:
1st: Benjamin Bucci
2nd: Yann Gerome
3rd: Anthony Klock
4th: Pierre Boucher
5th: Gregory Delloye
6th: Jehan-Roland Guillot
7th: Xavier Gaillard
8th: Frederick Degoulet
Special thanks to the Dévoluy tourist office for hosting (tents, hot drinks and cakes) and the CAF of Gap for the preparations. Hopefully the weather will be better next year! The second round will take place at the Zoo in Sallanches on Saturday, November 19.
