Paul has been riding through the Nepali foothills to Besi Sahar. The ‘Hike a Bike’ starts tomorrow where the Annapurna Trail makes its winding way towards Taal.. 30km riding followed by a 10km steep hike..
We have just heard from Paul Errington who has just completed stage one of the Yak Attack ride in Nepal. He is now sitting with his feet up in a tea room and Col has managed to catch him up with some photos for his first race blog entry!
Paul Errington and Alpkit Col have made it safe and sound to Kathmandu for the start of Yak Attack, a long distance mountain bike race around the Annapurna circuit.
Paul is posting on his blog whenever he can get internet access, with Col snapping away with his camera. For more about Yak Attack visit Extreme World Challenges.
Bouldr.net is building a free and open database of climbing routes, bouldering problems and map topos. To promote this they are running a comp to win a Phud bouldering mat. To enter just submit a topo online.
This year we’ve stuffed an extra 5% of down into our Filet down vests and have kept the price the same as last year! Colours are the same as Filo so we have a choice of: Ice Blue, Black, Nemo Blue, Lemon Zest, Urban Grey and if you are feeling it.. Plum Lucky.
We have decided not to go to this years Outdoors Show. It was a tough decision as we like working with the Outdoors Show to bring innovative events like the coLAB design competition. But in order to do a show like that well it takes us about a month to prepare, and this year by not going to the show it has given us more time to concentrate on other stuff. More time to spend on the website, more time to make better products, more time just to get out and about rather than doing long days and vegging out. We are still planning to hit the road so you can always come and see us at events like York Cycle Show, The Keswick Mountain Festival in the Lakes or even at our own event we are planning for later on in the year.
If there any events you know of that we can come and bring our retail stand to or just bring a few beers and chill out then let us know.
The final round of this seasons Alpkit Bouldering League took place last Friday and was really well attended, so thanks to everyone who turned up! Not content to give anyone an easy time, Dan and his team of route setters pulled out some new volumes to give a gymnastic round which including a jamming crack!
A big thanks to the team at the Nottigham Climbing Centre for all the hard work they put into organising the event, but don’t go hanging up your gym shoes yet.. the all day climbing marathon that is the Plastic Fantastic will take place on the 13th March!
Jim is back from the Carnegie Labs where he met up with Paul Errington to get a post Arrowhead race report.
